Why don't you get a set of steelies and dog dishes, and change them back and forth as your mood dictates :shruggy:

That sounds like a novel idea!!  See post # 12 above ;)
Sorry!! I agree with just 6T9 CHGR, if you can afford both :nana:

All the suggestions look good. I like both steelies and Magnums. I believe the 68's didn't have the red stripe dog dish though, it that matters to you.

Black steelies, no dog dishes, 10" on the back, white letters, dump the back end a little and that will be badass!

Steel wheels and hubcaps  :puke: belong on 4 door polara's and fury's, not on any kind of muscle car. Go 500's or rallye wheels...or better yet cragers.

I gotta go with the Magnum 500's , especially on that color. The Charger was a "Premium" priced car in 1969 for MOPAR and it should look it. With the 500's it does !!

I agree with Carl, the magnum 500's on the silver car do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of steelies as well, but there are color combinations, in my humbled opinion, that cater better to one wheel than another. In this case, the silver and chrome of the wheels compliment each other nicely to create an overall outstanding, aggressive, yet, sophisticated, look.

I have to agree, that if it were me, and I could afford it, I would keep both and switch them out once in a while. As for color of the steel wheels, I usually like them body color, at least on cars with darker colors. In your case, with the car being silver, I'd go with black to give some contrast between the body color and dog dishes and the wheel itself.

Magnum 500's are cool, but I think the steelies and dog dishes look tough too. I wouldn't get rid of either!!

500s. Steelies look terrible and unfinished, imo

I agree.  Steelies look too much like a police car for my taste.  Keep the Magnums.  :2thumbs:

Thanks for all the input.....Im going to stay with the 500s for now....I found a set of steel wheels sitting next to a garage of a funeral home (yea weird)...they were mint and painted red like a show car but had been sitting a while....I went up and spoke with the director....he said they were for his old ford truck....he opened up his garage and showed me a perfect 46 ford truck....he said he had the wheels redone but made a mistake and had bought 15 inch wheels and wanted 16 inch so he got a set of 16s and the 15s went outside...he is basically giving the away...I have not measured them but he said they were the same bolt patters  :shruggy:....they look exactly like mopar steel wheels...I will stop back and get some pics....he is basically giving them to me..

Check the measurements for the width and the bolt pattern although, they could be the same bolt pattern spacing as MOPAR. If they have a 4 1/2" bolt pattern they are good to go, most likely. Get them if they fit but ..... the Magnum 500's are the right wheel on your Charger !!

Forgot to add:  be sure to check the center hole as I think Ford had the same bolt pattern but the center hole was slightly smaller on a Ford. If so, they will not work ..... Do not bother getting them.

A '46 Ford will have a 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern, unless of course, it's been modified. :Twocents:
