What a pain. So now you need a new vinyl top and you have to pull the headliner to reattach the emblem. All for a $35 part. :flame:

can't you get in there from the trunk without yanking the headliner?

Maybe. I can't remember.

Headliner will have to be peeled back at the sail panel to attach the new emblem. You might have to pull the glass to get the old top off as it will be glued to the pinch weld around the front and rear window frames most likely.

Fined the guy wearing the Charger emblem and Shove it up his ass he wanted it so bad !!!

That's how I did my '70's emblem, I never touched the headliner.

That sucks! I used to live in places where thefts and vandalism were much more common and, in every case, the damage caused was worth more than whatever was stolen. No respect for other people's property - and, in the case of cars, labor and love. My guess is they ruined the emblem before they got it off (looks like a screwdriver from the bottom up) and will likely toss it. We used to find "trails" of stolen stuff where thieves would break into a car, grab everything they could, and then discard anything they didn't want (or couldn't sell) as they were walking away.

Oh, and don't expect all "Mopar guys" to respect your stuff either. I took the picture below at the Nats this year...

Troy

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Man that suxs. As mentioned, one word, Jealousy. I'm sure this asshat is showing it off to his unemployed, high school drop out friends. Bragging how he also caused a $1,000.00 of damage to the car.

my 16 yr. old son will be driving the charger to school in two weeks, hope nothing like that happens to his car.

The way kids have no respect these days I won't leave my 72 "driver" alone in the HD parking lot for more than 15 minutes, nevermind all day in the school parking lot. That car will have a bullseye on it in my opinion.

Depending on where you went, I would talk to shop/store owners of where ever you were parked to se if they have any cameras set up.  You might get lucky. F that POS that did that to you.

That really sucks man. Sorry to hear this happen to you.

This is one of the reasons I'm kind of happy I have the SE emplems and not the charger ones. I think people target those charger ones for theft a lot more then the SE emblems.

Did ya ever see the movie "Casino"? There's a scene where they catch a cheater and take a hammer to his hand. Sounds reasonable for this situation. I really am sorry about what happened to your car.

exactly what he said, oh and one tap of the hammer to the fore head, what a f$%king inbred pieceof shit looser to do that,
when all you own is a hammer, every job  resembles a nail.

I am simply baffled by how little respect there is for other people's property in today's society. What value would that little emblem have to a preying thief? See a bright shiny thing, & they not only have to steal it but cause further damage to someone else's property in the process? Disgusting.

A violated feeling for sure. I hope you get your car repaired quickly, and find out whoever did this to you.

Very sorry to see that.

My car is not on the road yet but I've been concerned about the same thing, my 72SE will have emblems all over the place.

Some times people just make you sick.  I too would at least back track and see if any of the places you went have cameras before they over-write the data etc.

Main thing is I hope the fix isn't too bad.

I checked the stores that i shopped at that day and they only have cameras at the door, nothing that covers the parking lot.

ACUDANUT

I would boycott those stores for now on.  If they don't care about what's going on in their parking lot, than shame on them. :Twocents:

I agree with the scene in Pulp Fiction when Travolta's character talks about getting his car keyed.  "You just don't fxxx with another mans car", then they proceed to talk about the vigilante justice.
