How many members here have factory sunroof cars?
Was '69 the first year? What was the last year? Were there any other Mopars available with factory sunroofs (late 60's to early 70's?)
Were all the sunroof cars "special ordered"?

I have one.  Yes...there are other mopars with them. I could be wrong but I think 69 was the first year with them....although one member here has a 68 with one!

That would be OneofNoneRT.

If you search back a year or two ago you can find the thread that the whole factory/not discussion occurred in.

I saw pictures and a lot of documentation on oneofnone's factory sunroof car and I have to admitt. the facts and documentation he has convinced me that they built at least one in 68 but the pat answer would be the factory started building sunroof chargers for the general public to purchase in 1969.

Just picked up a 1973 Charger hard top with a sun roof.  It is B1 blue with a white half top and a blue interior.  It has a console, but non-rallye gauges and a 318.  It spent most of its life in AZ or in a MA garage.  167K, but the engine is free and after I get the rebuilt 2 barrel on it I hope it will run.  Some bondo in the rear quarters but the frame is mint.  I am starting to feel like I perhaps over paid for it, but 71-74 chargers seem to be going up in value finally, so hopefully I will make out okay in the end.

The roof moves up and down a little when you turn the crank but doesn't move.  Any advice on how to approach figuring out what is wrong with the roof is appreciated.  I printed out the tech bulletin already, but haven't gotten into it.  Focusing on getting it running and water tight at the moment, as it will be stored out doors.  My 1964 Dart GT convertible gets the garage space.

IIRC, all 2nd gen. sunroof cars were special order items.

Don't know about 3rd gen. though.

Is yours a manual only sunroof?

In this pic it almost looks like that crank handle is permanently attached.

I have not seen oneofnoneRT on here in a long time.  I wish I had got my 09 SRT Challenger with a sun roof :brickwall:

So is the 230 cars in 69 still a thought production number and how many RTSE are known here with members and non-members cars?

:drool5: :drool5:Is that F6 RTSE sunroof  :drool5:(TX to MO to where) some years back a members car here and member name?

For what it is worth - seen a 318 69 in Okie back in the early 90 not much left of it then.  A red with white int/top 383 car in NC back in the 1980s, as I recall that car I think sold new in Canada maybe.  Might have photo of the 318 car I will look around.

So what compents and from what cars in the 70s interchange.  Does a 76 Cordoba sunroof fit something earlier, like Dart or Ebody?

69_500

I believe that the break down of RT/SE with sunroof is something like 29 for 1969 anyways. I had a 69 SE with a sunroof but sold it to get to the 500. Had a 70 Charger 500 with a sunroof as well but it also is gone now so that I could get the 69 500.

64dartgt

I am experimenting with a replacement seal for my sunroof.  So far it is a little tight, but hopefully it will break in a little.  Looks nice.
