I have a high stress job so my wife knows I need my "quiet time" with my cars.

I divide the H/D list into three categories.

A list- Do ASAP to keep the peace.
B list - Complete it to stop the nagging.
C list- I'll see if I ever get to it.

She hates it when shes asks me to do something and I say I'll put it on my C list.
72 Charger- Base Model
68 Charger-R/T Clone
69 Charger Daytona clone
79 Lil Red Express - future money pit
88 Ramcharger 4x4- current money pit
55 Dodge Royal 2 door - wife's money pit
2014 RAM 2500HD Diesel

I don't do that too well so I live in house that is a project and I have several unfinished things going on at once that all take forever to finish.  :eek2:

Working on changing this as it is frustrating.

What car time? :shruggy:

My main problem is I work a pretty physical job so working on anything, even the Honey Do List, is pretty much out Mon-Fri. That means I get to play catch-up on the weekend with everything. I pretty much gave up on the car this year. I put new rims and tires on the car earlier this year and then drove it about 4-5 times this whole summer. There were other family things going on this summer that put the car on the backburner as well. Hopefully next year the drive will be back. I already have a few things I want to do, like add hood pins and maybe a passenger side mirror.

See, the list never ends, just the time to do them does.  ;D

:yesnod:   The faster you get something done on the honey-do list, to sooner your "honey" has written in two more things for you to do.   :-\

Arghhhhhhhhh. I had today off and had plans, but the wife had other plans it seems as soon as she found out  :brickwall:

Today I was going to go drop stuff off at the platers, drop some parts off to the body shop, get my heater core and evaporator tested but that's all gone now out the window. She said I can do that Friday but I'm guessing she'll have other plans for me by then.  :brickwall:

Easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission.

Work on the car and apoligize for not getting to the honey do list.
She will get over it.......  Eventually.

That is true.....

I know when to catch my wife. I mention my plans when she is not paying too much attention, then wait a while and go and do it. Yes she gets angry, but I tell her that I told her about it. After a few moments of confusion, she settles down.

I occassionaly do a thing or 2 on the list, only because I feel guilty taking advantage of her short attention span

Usually I try to sneak some stuff in while doing some of her stuff so that her stuff on the list takes a little while longer.  As for my days off, I get what is called circle time at my police job since some weeks we work a 48 hour week.  Basically it is comp time.  I get one day every 6 weeks and don't tell the wife when it is coming or when I moved it to.  This way she thinks I have work but I am actually home doing stuff on MY list!  Unfortunately it is usually house projects and not stuff on the charger.

Ive maintained that all weekends are charger time. The girlfriend gets evenings during the week since I'm at school till 930 at night anyway. I have to admit that she doesn't mind helping on the charger for the most part. She's certainly much better at cleaning up all the chrome trim than I am. ;D.

If the honey isn't happy, I don't wanna to do nothing including driving my Charger or living. So depending on how many times I'm asked or how important it is to her, is in reference to how soon I get it done.
A happy honey is priority one.  :2thumbs:  for sanity and ones well being.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

What is a "Honey do list" :shruggy:

To translate it simply...... "Honey..... can you fix this...... Honey, while you are at it, can you do that.  Oh, and I almost forgot, the day you planned on doing your own stuff like working on the charger, mowing the lawn, fixing the leaking roof, etc all has to be put on the back burner because I want this picture hung somewhere in the house."

Honey Do list -  a list of something your wife, girl friend, or significant other asks you to do that seems to have a higher priority than the stuff you need to get done.... Ex) working on the car, yard work, etc.
