Did Hamtrammck run one or two production lines for the '69 Model Year? If there were two lines how would the lines assign serial numbers? Would line one start at 100000 and line two at 200000?
My car has a serial number in the 200000s and a production date of Oct. I am just curious.

Man, I don't really know but would be interested about that also. My Hamtrammck-built Charger has a Scheduled Production Date (SPD) of 314 or March 14th on both the fender tag and the buildsheets (2) found in the car. The vin is 321xxx for it and was probably built on the SPD which was a Friday curiously. Noooooooo , not a "Friday" car !

P.S. No clue on the fendertag or buildsheets about the number of lines then.

Two lines for '69 at Hamtramck. They built Chargers, Darts, Barracudas & Valiants that model year.

VINs were cross assigned to both lines, but the plant started with 100001.

If you have the broadcast sheet, in the top line, first digit 1 for Assembly line 1 & 2 for Assembly line 2. Late fender tags also note it in some cases.

Well, I pulled out my buildsheets and they list a "2" as the first number in the upper left block listed as the sequence number so it should be the 2nd line for me. I don't have the fender tag here right now so I cannot confirm either way on the tag but I don't think it is there.

Thanks for the info.

Hey your 3/14 date is close to mine.  Mine is 3/11 and I have 317XXX.

charge69

Yep,  pretty close to mine and built on a Tuesday if built actually on the SPD. Probably was as my build sheets also show 314 but not positive.

Alaskan_TA

Broadcast sheets will always show the the same SPD as the fender tag unless there is a typo on one or the other.

For cars of this era, there is no way to know if they were actually built on their SPD.
