Hi Everyone im new to this site.  I bought a replica of the Dirty Mary Crazy Larry Car two years ago. Its still sitting in my Garage I take it out once in a while when I have time. I believe this is one of the first real solid replicas ever made as she made her magazine debut back in 1998 as soon as it was done. Peter Fonda signed the magazine that the car was in but I don't know that he actually ever saw the car. The guy that did it never used it much except to take it to shows so it sat most of the time with him too. Ill be home next week as I am traveling in the deep south east right now and where Ill post more info and pics.

Hey thanks everyone for the welcomes. I got a few pics I was able to find here Im out in the woods so i got an iffy connection at best but lets see what happens. Also I know there has been a lot of debate about the actual color of the car. As far as I can see the car in the movie was a very light green but everyone says no it was yellow. It just looks more green to me than yellow Also when they leave the bar they race past a cop who just turned onto the road up ahead in front of them and as the cops respond they say they are in persuit of a "light green Charger" In any event Yes to answer the question this was the car from MCG back in 1998. I went to Mass to get it from the guy who made it. I see a ton of beautiful cars here. But then again thats to be expected of Charger owners.

Most people don't realize that the color temperature of the light used to photograph something will affect the color image of the whatever they are photographing.  For instance a light green car photographed with flourescent lights will be greener than what it really is because flourescent lights emit a green cast.  That same car photographed under tungsten lighting will have an orangish cast to the green paint.  Tungsten lights are those powerful "garage" lights that are 500 or 1000 watt and have a thick piece of quartz over the bulbs.  That same car photographed outdoors under heavy clouds (like right before it rains) with have a bluish cast to the green paint.  The best light source for most things is electronic flash or direct sunshine as these are "white" light and don't add any color cast.

Yes I will and I was also thinking of just taking the car to a graphics shop and have them make a couple of these stripes shince this one is so perfect so this way guys that want to make one can have the right stripe.

this is the site i use for resizing  !!  no doubt there are better ones , but it works for me

http://www.picresize.com

follow instructions    select picture you want , click on  browes

2  click on arrow then select custom size  , click the next arrow & change it to pixels , type in 500 or 600 , then hit i', done resize my pictures , then save in folder you want !
you can resize more than one at a time , follow instructions   but i find it easier to do it this was , as i'm pretty dumb when it comes to computer stuff  :brickwall:

Exactly, and any decent SLR worth the money will have a setting where you can reset the color temperature back to white by shining the available light in the room onto a white card and pointing the camera at the card.  Then the greens and oranges go away and it's much closer to the 'real colors'

Some point and shoots try and 'automatically' do this but it doesn't work very well IMO.

Hello everyone I am sorry that I have not been around I have had a lot going on but that MCG DMCL Charger is still here But honestly I havent looked at it since last summer around June when I was driving it and some little bastard tossed a rock at the car and it took out the left rear quarter glass It went home and has been sitting it the garage under a cover since then. I really ought to go out to the garage and make sure its still there I dont know what I wat to do with this car Its a beauty and all but I never have time to use it because im always working. But at the same time I dont know if I should sell it because It is a car that I have always dreamed of and I am afraid I wont ever get another one Not too sure what to do yet.

I was also considering changing some things around on this car too namely the driveline John the guy that originally built this car threw all kinds of money at this car and bought the best of the best of everything to build this car He installed a Dana 60 with 4.10s and replaced the      a-833 witha a tremec TKO 5 speed setup. Well its nice and all but the car drives like a drag racing car. I am no race car driver and I was considering removing the tremec and the Dana and just putting in a regular mopar 8.75 rear and a regular a-833 4 speed I was wondering if anyone out there would possibly be interested in swapping

tan top

:flame:  bastards  sorry to hear that ,  :RantExplode:  ,  did it hit the quarter too ?   , good thing just the glass , if there is a good thing about it ,

could always put 3.54 gears in the dana  !! , think i would sell the dana  , get a 8 & 3/4 sure grip with 3.55 or 3.23 gears !! keep the Tremec 5 speed :yesnod:
