Cheap 12v test light. Another is a 12v buzzer as you just listen for the sound as you move around checking things. Meter is nice but cumbersome in use until you've narrowed down the problem.

So I was going to buy a 12v tester but I just got 2 new kittens so a laser pyrometer was killing 2 kitties with 1 laser  :icon_smile_big:
