my 73 has the lap belts but is missing the snap on shoulder harnesses. i haven't been able to locate the shoulder straps, clips, screws etc but a fellow member has a set of seatbelts from a 74 rallye. surely these will fit my car with no problem? i hope so, my 16 yr. old son gets his DL in a week or so and will be driving to school in the car. he is good about wearing his belts but i don't want him getting pulled over and getting a ticket for improper seat belts. thanks for the help, this site is "totally awesome"...

no, they are totally diff... will post pics later

but will they bolt up? i know they won't look "correct" but i need the shoulder straps. i can feel the bolt hole under the head liner....

74s looks like this

needs the provision on interior plastic panel, the provision on inner frame area ( we 74 owners have a recesed area where the shoulder retractor attaches inside that panel, and of course the nut ), and the bolt just right at "B pillar" post area on roof.

your car has the shoulder belt bolt far away rear at a side of the coat hook.

You can use aftermarket 3 points seatbelt which could use just one retractor and attach the shoulder belt section to same retractor attaching point on floor.... would need then to insert a nut on a correct place at roof

but i need the shoulder straps.

71/73s got also the shoulder belt... don't you have it ? if not, is simply missed. Its a separated belt attached and clipped to roof and is manually adjusted and plugged to the lap belt stud provision ( 72/73s )

71s are slightly diff but more less same idea

and here is an aftermarket assembly with fully auto 3 points assembly:

note is just one retractor so wouldn't need to use the inner shoulder retractor like 74s did ( and related parts and stuff ) and actually just modify the roof for the shoulder hanger location

have a question... is your buddy 74 bench or bucket assembly ?... if bucket I could get the driver female piece with the wire ( the switch gone bad on mine and even I repaired would like to get a replacement )....

actually I would like to get as priorities, the driver female buckle for bucket ( mandatory 74 piece since is an unique year piece ) and the center rear bench setup ( male and female any 72/74 ) all black

Dunno if maybe some pieces
