Check this out, it's a Chrysler Centura with a corvette v8. insane or genius?

For those unfamiliar, it's australian version of the european chrysler 180 and a predecessor of the Sigma/Galant.

surmanajaja

a local fella owns 80% of registered chrysler 180`s in Finland. or so he says. terrible car but any car with a late-model vette engine must be fun..for a while.

70charginglizard

Looks kinda like my old dodge colt (my very first car) :o)

Never did that with the motor though. Although I though about it many times....lol

I saw a blown 540ci chevy in a 72 Opel GT once...       this car looks a lot safer than that one

I have to wonder why someone would waste the time and money wrapping all that power in something that resembles baby poop, but that's just me. I'm more into aesthetics than the sleeper thing.

Is there a youtube video from that car?

It's just a Chevy LS1 from a wrecked Holden Commodore and he has put the plastic Corvette covers on it.

I think it's pretty quick, low 12's at least, and he gets good fuel economy too!

It's sacrilege putting a gm motor in a Chrysler but obviously it's the cheapest option for getting some speed thrills when you're not a one-eyed Mopar guy. It used to run a turbo 265 Hemi!

Yeah,
These pics were taken at a local car show from the weekend just gone.
It runs 11.4 @ 118mph. And gets 24mpg.
Went through a few 265's previous to this drivetrain.
He's going for the "Grandpa" look!!
(nice looking RR1 Charger beside it in the pics....!!!! lol)

Should have been a Hemi.  ::)

Funny you should say that.....he actually toyed with the idea of a hemi!
Just too cost-prohibitive. Where-as these LS1 drivelines are a dime a dozen!

i bet he's the king of traction. lol

I like the concept...wish it was a Mopar motor, but nonetheless cheap thrills and since he has a track recrod of Mopar power prior to this it is easy to forgive based on the fact he'll tick a lot of brand-x ple off at the track!  Hopefully the ls1 will go and he can swap in a late model HEMI for similar fun and mpgs  :yesnod:

Hi guys, this is my car.

Makes 342rwhp with a fairly baby cam and 4000rpm stall and 3.7 gears and weighs in at about 2800rpm. Traction isn't too bad if your right foot isn't too heavy as alot of a weight has been shifted back compared to the old Hemi6. Although it will turn the tyres from around 50mph.

Would have loved to have gone a Hemi, but they are still about 8-10K here for the engine alone, where as I picked up the engine, trans and computer for $3500.

Stock driveline with limiter abuse.

Match racing a Supercharger 4L Lexus V8 Centura. Mine is stock running 12.5.

Running against another V8 at Mopar Sunday. Now with cam in it.

Fair enough, goes alright, not my bag though.
A guy out here put a V10 out of a wrecked Viper into a swb 94 Nissan Safari, cant find the pic of it now,  but, I cant really see the point for the expense and hassle involved
