Cappuccino; usually a medium if I buy my coffee, but I only buy if I'm on the road.

If I'm at home steamed milk is a bitch so I do a double espresso in my wife's espresso machine.  Quick and easy.

If it has to be home brewed percolated coffee I like the MJB Hawaiian blend, one sugar with milk/creme. Or for instant coffee it's hard to go past Nescafe Espresso... I don't understand the people who like 3 - 4 sugars in their coffee :eek2:

I do enjoy a proper latte or flat white

Also free coffee from work is hard to go past...

I quite like Bali coffee if I'm going to grind beans but for instant, Nescafe short black is awesome, it's got a great flavor. Although I use two heaped teaspoons and add milk and sugar.
Gotta love a '69

when i was a  kid , my Nan /Grandma  , would make coffee by warming up milk on the stove ,  & put a spoon full of coffee in it  , plus 2 sugars  ,    after all these years , that's still how i like coffee !!  although  no sugar for me now , use artificial sweetener ! thanks to type 2 :icon_smile_blackeye: ,

I like simple, plain, coffee with some cream & nothing else. No frappa-crappa-nutty-twiggy-butterfinger-filled-lattes for me or I'll barf.   :rotz:  Once in awhile a genuine cappuccino from a genuine Italian restaurant or coffee shop is awesome, but hard to find.  :drool5:

I'm depressed over the lack of a really good cup of coffee.  :'(

There was a small coffee shop near me that opened about 15 years ago, but closed when the economy tanked. They had really good food & roasted their own coffee beans. The owner was getting up there in years, & I guess business slowed in general, so she closed up. I didn't know what had happened until I bumped into the waitress that worked there at Home Depot. She told me the owner decided to move to AZ & retire.

Good for her, but I sure miss a great cup of coffee.

There's halfway decent coffee around, but still not as good as the place that closed. Dunkin Donuts is overrated & sometimes tastes burnt, Starbucks is moderately okay, but the only ones near me are inside other stores & a pain in the ass to go to. The diners & convenient stores are mostly hit or miss, & all too often they're just horrible or undrinkable & have a brown, tar-like sludge built up in the bottom of the pot. McDonald's coffee is actually decent, didn't used to be, but it's usually a nightmare in the parking lot unless it's a certain time of day.

There is one convenient store that has good coffee most of the time, but it's a little out of the way. I still try to find an excuse to go past it though.   :D

For demographic purposes, I'm 35 and have been an occasional coffee drinker since I was 19 but have been a fanatic/addict since I was about 25.  I'm not a fan of the flavored coffees like French Vanilla, Mocha or Hazlenut.  I like my coffee to taste like coffee, easy on the H&H and easy on the sugar, the stronger the brew the better.  I do like double Cappuccinos and espresso, but am luke warm on Lattes (I like milk with my coffee, not coffee with my milk).  Oh, another brand I like but we don't buy very often is Illy from Italy.  It was easy to find it when we lived in NYC, but I haven't seen it around much since we moved to NJ.  We honestly haven't searched high or low for it either since the Whole Foods and Trader Joe's beans have been good to us.  It is very good and they sell it in beans or different pre-ground sizes for either drip machines or espresso pots.  Good stuff.

I'm going to look for this next time I am there, or at least tell my wife when she's there, she likes Trader Joe's.  :2thumbs:

The coffee shop that closed by me was actually bought by someone who was selling the beans mail order. I saved the link to the site, but now see it reopened in Bethel, NY.

Bring water to boil, dump coffee grounds into water, stir for 3 minutes while boiling.

Does the spoon stand straight up if you let go?

Yes? Coffee is done.

No? Add more coffee grounds.

Morning I like the eight o'clock beans I grind and then a little coffee rich.
Evening, same thing with maybe a little Irish whiskey.

My coffee comes in a green can with "Moutain Dew" on the side.
Like the smell of coffee but just can't get the taste for it.

Same here, but my can says "Diet Mountain Dew".  My wife doesn't drink coffee either, but 20+ years ago, I refused to kiss my girlfriend goodbye if she had been drinking coffee that morning.

Hah! I love the smell of freshly ground roast coffee, but have never found a cup that I could stomach. If it is a mocha, maybe. I'll take my caffeine in a coke.

You should try my Swiss Miss recipe. I've tried drinking coffee nine ways to Sunday with zero luck but once I did the Swiss Miss thing I was hooked. VERY good. And I don't like coffee.

My old Pops can't drink coffee any longer because of some med's he's taken, I think I drive him nuts with the smells of some of my creation he thinks I'm baking or something...              If your an avid coffee drinker/lover & have to give it up, you know that smell will drive you crazy...             Pops use to drink what we called "camper coffee" when I was a little guy, on week end mornings either Jack Daniels, Yukon Jack or some other rot gut Whiskey in his coffee, when we would go camping he always had a cup of the stuff in his hand, that's how it got it's name...       I guess the apple dosen't fall too far from the tree, I do like my Irish Coffee on cold winter NIGHTS, cant do it in the morning though...

I do Eight O'clock coffee or here lately Chock full o'Nuts.  I like it strong so I do a tablespoon for every cup and I take 1/2 and 1/2.  Sometimes in the afternoon I'll do some sugar too.

Hey thanks for the responses! I've been drinking it since I was a kid, I remember going to Jersey as a kid and up there all my relatives were drinking iced coffee for lunch!
I'm not above a shot of Hershey's syrup or instant hot chocolate in my Joe on a cold winter morning myself. I jack them in Starbucks as I refuse to order in their lingo, if I want large I order LARGE. I don't let THEM put anything in it, I do that myself....how can they know how much of what I want to add?  (My daughter cringes....grand-aie what the heck is that? I want a LARGE and fill it to the TOP!)
For me "Hazelnut" or other popular flavors ruin it completely. At work some add salt to the grinds, I don't get that, I've heard of some adding egg shells also. The best trick I know is using purified water for coffee and tea, try it and see if you like it too, my tea comes out clear and amber and tastes much more refreshing. (I use Luzianne decaffeinated so I can drink it 24/7. )

I've had the Nantucket Blend before, it's not bad!  :yesnod:
I hear D&D now has K-cups, I'll have to try those. I've had the Newman's Own dark roast ones, it tastes like dirt.  :eek2:

Black as sin, strong as an Ox, thick as tar.  Start the day with a cup and end the day with a cup.  Doesn't effect my sleeping after so many years of drinking my before bed cup.
Favorite coffee is cowboy coffee.  Sits on the fire all week, adding water and coffee every day until it is more coffee than water.  Use my teeth to strain it out.  Great during those cold winter campouts.

Oh HELL yeah ! Mountain Dew ! I love it from the fountain at 7-11. I  dont like the "blend" at any other convenience store.
The smell of bacon and eggs along with brewing coffee..... Ahh, heaven to wake up to!

Folgers, just like it comes out of the pot. No milk or sugar. Sometimes when my can of Folgers gets about half way down, I'll mix in a bag of Dunkin Doughnut's coffee. That's pretty good too. I probably drink close to a pot of coffee a day in winter, and at least half a pot anytime else over the course of the day.
