WOW...Is it just me or has everything West of the East coast fallen off the face of the Earth...Can CNN pump this IRENE Story just a little harder, Really, where do they Come up with this stuff, I'm thinking CNN gets their Weather Journalists straight from the SHOPPING CHANNEL.
Here's some "Quotes" from the intense coverage just this Morning As North Carolina welcomed in IRENE.

"WOW look at that storm Surge !...Check out the Surfers enjoying themselves"

"This Storm has been downgraded to a Cat.1 Hurricane but we can still make you  it feel like it's a Cat.3"

"Carolinans have been told to "[batten down their hatches]" So if you own a sedan or convertable you should be in the Clear"

"As the Storm approached in the early hours it was reported that Chuck Norris was found under his bed this morning"

"President Obama had breakfast  talks with Mother Nature and asked if things could picked up just a little bit as to be more inline with the Reporting....CNN has millions invested in this event.."

"Wolf Blitzer apparantly Apologized to Florida and the Louisianna today and commented..."Don't worry we'll even this out later".

"One reporter on the ground in Arkansas reported "[ We're at the ready here, People have been evacuating now for three years]"

CNN Stated "We were running Low on Color for their Color Comontators"
So their pulling Jesse Jackson and sending him to Boston "

"Not only is the water High it's very Cold"

"Not only is the Water Cold it's seems very Ominus"

"It's Hard to imagine Standing here, just a few hours AGO it was dry and Calm"

"I Can't Imagine what the fish are going thru"

New Yorks Mayor Michael Bloomberg Stated "Lady Liberty should fare well she's been there for 125 years" ...."We're going to begin soaping her down later today "

"Manhatten is going to be just fine"

One reporter anounced " My Boots are full"

Another Stated, "We can Strech this storm out into Double Time should the need arise"

Here's a couple of Off Camera Quotes...

"Is my Makup running ?"

" Hey !....it's really deep in this puddle !... Stand Here."

" Just Squat a little bit "

"So this is a Cat 1.4 ?....Cool ! Folks This is now a Cat 1.9 Hurricane !"

" Hold on a sec...This looks like a big wave coming in..."

"is that fan on high ?"

" stop splashing me "

"Anderson, He's working out of the Green Room "
"
"See if you can knock that Tree over"

" Hey isn't that the same Car from Katrina ?"

Just Funning Folks, You'll get more out of the 6:00 eveniong news than the tripe coming out of CNN.

I was watching CNN this morning, and wow!! Looks like they have about 20 or more reporters on this storm..It must be a very slow news day everywhere else. When anything ever hits the
east coast, its the main news story ever. Just can't believe it. ::) ::)

My wife was watching the storm news all morning before she left for work.  She just called me from work to check in. The first thing she said was, you watching the storm on t.v? " No, I forgot about it ".
This stuff just puts excitment in peoples boring lives.  I gotta take her out more often.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

The wife is back home for work.  Sitting on the couch watching CNN about the storm.
Tomorrow when it hit's Ct I have to bring her to work at the hospital smack in the middle of it.
A chain saw is already in the back of the car.

There's no credibility in any network news anymore, that's why it's been called "newsertainment" quite often. The idea is to keep people worried about non issues while the important stuff is conveniently overlooked, like when the CEO's fertilize their bank accounts.

MEDIA HYPE

That is all...

Meanwhile, we've been busy elsewhere in the world.  Not that you'd know it with the blanket of hurricane coverage.  We whacked the #2 al Qaeda dude this morning with a drone strike.

Bob that pretty much nails it there..
In the news cycle they always relese the stuff they don't want folks to know about on Friday nights Sat. Mornings under the cover of a larger "Cover" story... So folks are preoccupied and it's lees embarrassing, that's what "Spin Doctors" do.

We can pick it up on the faux news network and find out who to blame for it.  It might make the $700 club so we can learn who's being punished for what.  Probably better to just leave the TV off for a couple days.

NICE family photo. The 80s called. They want their STYLE back!

One of the best things about the coverage during Irene was that all of the NYC networks went into 24-hour news mode, so we didn't have to watch the cable news networks and their dramatized exaggerated news BS.  We were able to watch our local news people around the clock.  It was awesome.

My step-father worked for the Washington Post through the 60's, 70's and retired in the early 80's later teaching journalism. It is sickly fascinating watching the changes in the industry that have been occurring, unfortunately it is real and not some horror sci-fi movie we can just turn off.

Investigative journalism has been diseased since at least the early 90's.  "Who, what, when, why and how" is being replaced with agenda. Thanks Murdoch doctrine and a public that chooses to pay serious attention to sound bites and chain e-mails instead of researching, reading, reading and reading on important topics that affect our daily lives.

Can't forget Ted Turner and his invention of the 24hr news channel.

Anything running full time on 'news' is bound to fluff up the real news with filler.

And now that we're inundated with 24hr news channels, the propaganda is flying fast and furious from them all.

Anyone else notice that FOX News is the bastion of the 'right wing', yet FOX network seems to lean the other way?

Call it a marketing strategy from Rupert, or just sound business (play to both sides, make more money), either way, I just find it interesting.
