CRACKED DASHBOARDS ON 98 TO 01 DODGE RAM TRUCKS

I BOUGHT A 01 DODGE RAM 4X4 WITH A 360. SWEET TRUCK. DIDNT, NOTICE THAT THE DASH WAS CRACKED ALL OVER. I CALLED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY IDEAS. THEY ONLY SUGGESTED PUTTING A AFTERMARKET COVER ON IT. WELL, BAD PART IS PIECES BEGAN TO FALL OUT. SO, I DID SOME SEARCHING ON EBAY AND FOUND A PLACE IN NEW YORK THAT IS MAKING REPRODUCTION DASHES THAT ARE, GET THIS. MADE OUT OF THE SAME PLASTIC AS PLASTIC BEDLINERS. SO I PURCHASED ONE FOR $312.00. IT HAS A LIFTIME WARRANTY TO NEVER CRACK. WELL, I HAD BEEN DRIVING MY TRUCK WITH THE UPPER DASH FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS WHEN IT ARRIVED. I TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX TO INSTALL IT. THE WERE RIGHT. YOU CAN TWIST THIS THING AND IT GOES RIGHT BACK INTO SHAPE AND NO CRACKS.

IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF ONE, LOOK THEM UP ON EBAY. YOU'LL NEVER REGRET IT.

My dash is cracked also. I just put a cap on it because I heard that to replace the original dash I would have to remove the windshield.

Where did you buy the cap from? Mine is starting to crack.

I recommend getting black. I ordered the color closest to what I already had and it did not match very well.

every one of those trucks i get into the salvage yard have the top section all cracked up ,  very bad material , also the fold out and down center dash cup holders break very easy

My neighbor across the street has a 2004 Ram quad cab.  He told me his dash has cracked.  Heat does it he said.  I have been putting the aluminum folding sunshields behind the windshield and rear window of my 2005 ram quad cab.  No cracks so far.

THIS PIECE ISN'T A CAP. ITS A REPLACEMENT. AND NO, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD. YOU JUST HAVE TO REMOVE THE DASH INSTRUMENT TRIM PANEL, PASS. AIRBAG, AND THE GLOVE BOX.
