I sold the 73 Rallye yesterday, Should be in Texas now. I hated to let it go, but got what I was wanting for it. Sort of sucks, but I will be buying all the parts I need to finish my 69 (which I have been working on forever), so its all good.

So sorry to hear about selling the '73. I am sure it went to a good home and someone is very excited about getting a new Charger to restore now. A plus is more working capital to spend on your '69, though. My condolences on selling the '73 but congrats on using the money on the '69 !!!!!!!!!!

Glad you was able to get what you wanted for it   I sold my 69 Coronet RT several weeks ago to fund my Bird clone but wasn't able to get nowhere near what I wanted.  Sold it $19.5K and see it now on Craigslist and another mopar site for $34K after he added a 6pac and making an interior color change from tan to black.  Best wishes on the 69

Sorry to read you sold your 1973 Rallye Charger. :'( I know how hard it can be to fix up 2 cars at the same time. Good luck finishing your 69. BTW I picked up a 73 Rallye Charger 340 4 speed, numbers matching project car that might be forsale if you get to missing having a 3rd gen. down the road.

Sometimes it needs to be done. I sold my '69 a few years ago because I was tired of barely being able to do the upkeep on the cars, let alone do extra things I would like to do. I built a stroker for the '71 and paid off some bills with the money. Now I am hoping in the next few years to get the Bee repainted. Last paint job was 1989.

Good luck on the '69.  :2thumbs:

Thanks guys....sounds like a lot of you guys have went through the same thing. Yep it sucks, but I have been working on a spreadsheet and comparing prices, so in a couple of days I'm gonna order everything I need for the 69.

For an average Joe like me working on two cars is dang near impossible. But when I finish the 69 (I know they are never finished), I wanna buy something else to tinker with, I don't know if I want another full blown project yet, just something to tinker with....really wanting an a-body. So I'm putting some of the money I made back for that.

I would have done the same thing..Unless it was 71-72 Charger..Then I would have to keep both.

BIGBLCK11

Sounds like the right decision.  It is a nice looking 73.  BUT, the 69 will be awesome!!  :2thumbs:

I had a plain jane '72 3-4 years back, sold it in 6 months..... 318, flat hood, 14" wheels, didn't even look like a muscle car. But I did make a few hundred on it   :icon_smile_big:

Been thinking about moving my Aussie Charger along so I know what you were going through.
It's still got a bit of a way to go before it's ready for the street, but the cash would certainly help me do a few things to the '69 that I should have already done, like new doortrims, upper door pads and a set of new dash fascias. Not to mention some better brakes.

Gotta love a '69

Been there, done that, more than once, unfortunately.... the one that hurt the most was letting go of my '66 Hemi Charger that I owned for 25 years. That one still stings. Gotta do what you have to though, whatever the reasons behind it. There will always be other cars to be bought to be tinkered with in your garage.

Yep it sucked seeing it go Friday.... But its great today, I just ordered a shit load of stuff for the 69. I spent a total of $2258.42 so far, still gotta buy tires, battery and fluids locally, and going to take my radiator to the radiator shop to be checked/cleaned. So I'll still have some left to buy me something else to tinker with (hopefully a Duster).
Here's a list of what I got so far and who I got it from....

-Seat/Trunk Divider
-Grant Steering Wheel Adapter
-Package Tray
-Bucket Seat Foam
-Seat Belts (Aftermarket)
-Trunk Mat
-Glove Box Liner
-Interior Rear Glass Trim

Now that its all said and done, those new goodies should take the edge off the sale of your car.
Being practical and careful these days as I try to be, it's worth considering putting that extra cash in the bank and leave it there.  :Twocents:

What part of Texas did it go to?  I'll keep my eye out for it.

Sort of sucks

Been there 3 times. All the old car stuff i have owned so far was bought because i liked the car in particular and everytime I sold one my heart bleeded but for me it was more painful to see a car sitting outside without a roof over its head....
If I had storage room to spare I would have kept at least one of the 3 cars I've sold...

But you will feel better when the parts arrive for the 69
