Was in LA the other week and the ad mysteriously vanished - but now it's back, and priced lower than before  :popcrn: Scam???

That guy has been trying to sell that car for at least 16 months.   :rotz: He spams like 4 of the regional craigslist cities with roughly one new post every day with a different price.   :RantExplode: Last year he was fishing in the 25k range. By the end of the summer he was in the low 20s. Now he seems to be all over the map.  :shruggy:

Is the car legit? Or is the ad a way for scammers to "collect" email addresses? You know, respond to the ad, then get a flood of crap emails for the next week  :brickwall:

If the scammers are using it as a way to collect email addresses then they probably have mine 100x over now. Gmail seems to do a very good job of filtering out the crap because I don't get any spam in my inbox, just in the spam box, and I don't seem to loose any legit correspondence. So I don't even hassle that anymore.

I always ask for a phone # and call.

I bet he would get more calls if he did that and stopped listing it every freaking day.  :brickwall:

Never heard of that scam before.  :o  Got any links that check out reporting it?

It might have been a lost title issue. I know in Ohio that if you find a car with no title and the numbers run clean, you can get a new title through the highway patrol but it will be a salvage title.

baker, the texas incident was actually on a tv show where they investigate murders. the guy answered an ad and called the seller. they agreed to meet but since he was from another state he didnt know the area. 2 guys and a woman were waiting and when he started walking around the truck to check it out they shot him. after the wife and i watched that show she is a little uneasy when we take off to another state to check out a car.

Black Charger

What I don't understand is why anyone would want to use one of those 80s Camaro steering wheels. They were one of the ugliest steering wheels ever made, even the Camaro owners I knew back in the day usually swapped them with an aftermarket wheel. As for the ghetto rims, if they're not full of curb rash you could probably sell them to completely pay for a set of Magnums or, if you look hard enough, a set of Turbines.

Looks like this one is now gone - Hasn't been advertised in some time... Still wondering if it was "for real..."  :popcrn:
