i'm a contractor and today at work the homeowner had me haul off his Playboy magazine collection :2thumbs: after work i took them to my shop and sorted them by years. the oldest is a 67, a few 69 editions and pretty much all of the 70's 80's and 90's were in the mix. automotive ads have always interested me so i thought i might find a few in mr hefners fine magazine. here is what i found in the the october 1967 edition... on the inside cover is a two page ad for the new 1968 dodge charger! pretty cool find i believe!

i've quickly sorted thru the others and have found a few 71 charger ads, one 75 charger and a bunch of 73 plymouth satellite ads plus lots of vw, AMC gremlin and javelin, mg's saab, etc. i would love to find a 73 charger SE ad to match my car....

lots of mgs, vw's, saab, ford mustang, gremlin/javelin ads... no chevy ads plus lots of other ads like liquor, haagar slacks, camera, and sex aid ads :eek2:

I stumbled on a collection dating 1970-1980 when I moved into my last house... They were all in perfect condition sealed in boxes in order...

I placed an ad... Needless to say, that $6k came in handy  :o

Dans 68

I think I still have that issue with the Jimmy Carter interview. I wonder where it it.... :scratchchin: ...all I know about that issue is that Jimmy Conner married the centerfold.  :yesnod:

Dan

Edit: Nov '76...the car ads would not be too interesting. I guess I'm not in that much of a hurry in finding it....

This post is a cover. You "pretend" to be doing the members of this site a service, all the while you are checking out vintage wool. Clever.

No fender scoops and it says a plastic nose.  Odd?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Kern Dog

Early Daytona prototype?
Maybe the "plastic" reference was a mistake from the ad dept?

bajaherbie

the green daytona isn't a dodge advertisment, its a "car review" by the playboy staff. i'd blame the errors on the writer/staff.

True for plastic part, but I don't think the scoops were photo deleted?  Any idea why they are not on that car?
