I see that US Radiator offers direct fit radiators in brass/copper with either 3 row or 4 row.  The 3 row is 2 inches thick.  The 4 row is 2-5/8 inches thick.  I'm worried about fan to radiator clearance (using Hayden 2765 fan clutch and correct 7 blade fan).  Does anyone know if the 2-5/8 inch thick unit will work or will I have problems as far as the fan.  I'm talking about the 26 inch wide radiator not that the width matters.  I actually have a 4 row from them and am finding that it's too tall.  My original radiator was 22-1/2 inches tall from top of upper tank to bottom of lower tank--not including the filler cap part of the radiator and with it installed I only have maybe 1/8 inch of clearance above the lower core support.  The new one with the two upper bolts loosely threaded in is OK as far as how it fits to the upper core support and the fill cap assembly is in the correct position---and it can't be moved up due to the hood.  But the lower tank will not clear the lower core support.  I measured the height of the new radiator and found it to be 23-1/8 inches tall.  It's supposed to be a direct fit.  I'm thinking that since it's 4-row that maybe not only is the thickness increased but the height may also be increased.  I'm thinking about returning it and just getting one of their 3 row units that is 2 inches thick.  I'll ask them to measure it and make sure it's no more than 22-1/2 inches tall.  Any comments appreciated.
