Need help with correct fuel pump for 68 Charger 440

Does anyone have a suggestion as to the correct mechanical fuel pump used for a 68 Charger 440. I am looking for the closet thing to the factory replacement. The Carter M4434 is spot on but appears to be the correct one for a 69. Am I missing something or does someone have the part number that will work for the 68 that might be different or is it actually the same one that will work?

    Yes the 4845 is the pump to use for the 68-71 440's.

  You will need a brass adapter fitting for the output to steel line that feeds the vapor separator, any NAPA or CarQuest type parts house will have one in their brass fittings section. It screws into the pump and adapts to the flair end of the fuel line. (That's the way the factory did it.)
 When you install the pump, if you put grease on the pump push rod that's inside the opening for the pumps lever (put the grease on the end of you finger and coat the rod well) it will hold the rod up (briefly) letting you get the new pump's lever positioned correctly. Be sure to bump the engine over and keep checking that push rod first, you will feel it move up and down if you catch the end of the rod with your fingernail and slide it back up in it's hole. The pump installs much easier with the push rod up as far as it will retract. I use gasket adhesive to hold the gasket firmly to the pump first and have both bolts just barely grabbing the gasket for assembly.

Thanks for the advise. I am getting ready to install the motor in the car after nearly 4 years while we did the rotesserie restoration. I am at the one piece at a time stage.
