i may not have seen all of them, but here are photos of a few aero cars in attendance. the first three were each in the "for sale corral".
i didn't downsize the files i added here, so you may have to use the slider bar to see their full width. a slideshow of the photos i took can be seen on my photobucket page

i would only know them by photo recognition, but didnt see either of them near the car at the time i passed by.

i dont recall seeing a price on the 500, but the daytona was at $162,500

this is #400585. it seems to be the car from this thread, so perhaps the recent buyer is just looking to flip it?

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,83526.0.html

my buddy said the business cards seen on the windshield were for a broker. the "other high end mopars" line might be part of what they are willing to trade for. if that's the case, hemigeno may be back in the running.

I see that the Malcom's were there with at least one car, and my buddy Mike showed up with his Yellow bird.

I'll have to go through my pics and see if I can figure out who's 500 that is.

This make the 2nd Mopar nationals that I have missed in all.

I didn't see a price on that 500 but it was an XS on the VIN and tag.

Did you see  any info or price for the blue Superbird with white interior?
Was it auto or 4 speed?

Really that is a very interesting car. I can't believe that it would have changed hands. The previous owner was from Florida and I have talked to him several times about the car.

I am always ready for emails following major Mopar shows. I typically get a picture of every 500 from people when I don't attend a show. And its great I love it. My wife doesn't like sorting through them all but I do.

Buddy of mine looked at both the bird and the daytona in the car corral.
Daytona is the one from RK Motors in Charlotte and was very nice

Bird was a 6 barrel car, and was asking $105K ( I would have to ask  him what trans though)

The little bit of info I have on these 2 was they were  reasonable buys at the advertised price

i thought i took a photo of the paper on the dash with the seller's  info, but somehow did not. i recall the paper was covering half of the vin plate, which may have been what distracted me from snapping the picture. i do have three other photos of the car, but cant help with identifying it.

The blue bird in the corral was a very nice driver.   B5 blue, white guts, 4 spd console.   I looked at it very closely to add it to my green 6 pack.  I heard someone say that there wasnt a sheet or paperwork with it.  Nice car all in all but the paint wasnt true throughout the car, the nose was a different shade to me.  They were asking 105k And it SOLD!!! on Sunday.  Hope its going to a good home.

I guess you missed the F6 Daytona (my friend Bill's car), Larry Bell's old car...

http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=6778184&an=0&page=1#Post6778184

yes, i did miss it there, which is kind of sad. i realized it was there after returning home and seeing that larry had a new photo of it. ive know larry for many years, and well recall when he bought it. does your friend know the original owner, phil roberts, that larry bought it from? phil was my childhood barber. this car, along with my parents' b5 car, were both new cars locally.

Quotedoes your friend know the original owner, phil roberts, that larry bought it from? phil was my childhood barber.

I don't think he does. He bought the car from Mason Dixon in the mid/late '90s, and I know he has talked to Larry on several occasions, but I don't think he has ever talked to Phil. Do you know Scott Reasoner, from New Castle? He was at the show and I talked to him for a while. His dad has Larry's old pink T/A Challenger.

I got a old wing car newsletter where Larry advertised wanting to trade the 69 daytona for a 78 pace car corvette. Then I ran into him at Indy mopar nats with his blue red daytona 5000 mle dealer installed 6 pack .He recently repurchased restored back to R4 red

That's my favorite combo too !
I was thinking it was an automatic car that I knew of near me that sold , but I guess not.
Damn..  :brickwall:
I agree the nose did look a little off in color from the rest of the car, but wouldn't be the first one I 've seen like that...

Hope it is going to a good home, but likely a dealer/flipper like that Daytona...

Mopar John

This V2 numbers matching 4speed white interior with buddy seat Daytona was with us down in Indy for the Brickyard gathering. I don't remeber him trying to advertise it for sale though.

i uploaded the rest of the photos i took at the nationals to the photobucket album-  no additional cars, just some additional shots of the aero stuff. the three here are all that i took of the bird besides the one earlier in this thread. i'm still kicking myself for not running across the f6 daytona, since that car and i go way, way back.

they plate may be in the system, but the car is still registered under its historical tag.  in Ohio we're required to carry the historical plates in the car if we run the model year specific ones.  we don't get a separate registration for the vintage plate--there's just a note made in the DMV computer.

Guess it's a moo point anyway ( yes I know it's "moot" )- be curious to know where it went though.
