I was reading some advertising for the 2011 Eurocharger and I note that they were working hard to make the connection between it and the 1st and 2nd gen Chargers.  They mention the 66 and it's features by name as well as the 68 and it's sleek restyle and they pose it with a 1969 model in the photo.  The ad speaks about heritage and muscle but then goes on to point out that the Charger heritage "essentially" ended in 1979.
Good news for the Discocharger I suppose.

And still hasn't come back!

Nah, 3rd Gen still were Chargers. After that they became an appearance package.  :yesnod:

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Kinda' hard to mount heritage transversely between the front wheels.

Fixed it better

( a 66/71 Charger still is a Charger even being SB, so why a 72/74 wouldn't be a Charger ? )

They would connect with the early Chargers a lot better if their modern Charger didn't have the front end of a Ram pickup.

:iagree: atleast they fixed the tail lights.... maybe in a few years they :scratchchin: will reconize the 68' original lens or maybe...?
Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

i've never heard it put so... succinctly  :2thumbs:

bull

Do they think the 75-79 "Chargers" were better? :eyes:

Ghoste

Apparently whoever is writing the ad copy does.

Lizey

its funny its written like that because there is no such thing as a 1979 Dodge Charger. 78 was the last year which was the first year of its replacement the Magnum.

These GLHS cars have a special place in my heart since I was in high school when they came out in the mid '80s. I already had a 69 Charger that I bought for $400 but girls seemed more impressed with guys driving 85 Mustangs. I wanted a GLHS to impress the ladies and blow away the Mustangs and Camaros

Very close, my personal opinion would be 1974, anything after that, well it's kinda like that show in 1980, I think they called it galactica 1980, pretty much disregared by fans of the original battlestar galactica.....everything after 1974 wearing the charger name is pretty much like that......

bull

Front wheel burnouts? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
