It was a Plymouth sport fury that had all new AMD sheet metal put on it.

EDIT: it was a sport satellite, not a fury. I must have been tired when I posted this.

If I had spare cash I'd buy it and fixer up.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Better than chopping up an actual Charger.  Looks decent, just not a huge fan of convertibles either.  The roof line and sail panels are some of my favorite parts.  :Twocents:

Kern Dog

Thats really interesting....Using a different substructure and hanging Charger panels on it.
I'd tend to agree with the others: The roof is a big part of the styling of the 68-70 Charger and the convertible/roadster design, while interesting, lags behind a standard Charger. Thanks for posting!

One of my Charger projects will wind up as a convertible... :yesnod:

I didn't get a shot of the sign in the window but they said they would finish it however you wanted it equipped.

I think there was one like this, a satellite turned into a charger in Mopar Action or some other mag back in ´95 or early nineties anyway. probably have the issue somewhere. I would actually rather make a coupe charger with a roof from a donor b-body since the roof is essensial part of the mean sculptured look of the coke-bottle chargers.

Troy

Something similar way back in 2008. I believe M.A.R.S. was the first to do it when the AMD sheet metal first came out. They had the first one I saw any way. You need a convertible "donor" to get the windshield, A-pillars, etc. so none have been made from actual Chargers (as far as I know).

The car in question is owned by a Rhode Island guy. He is a member on Moparts and has the screen name ChargerVert. Nice guy.

When your Charger is sideways, just give it more gas!

Budnicks

The seating area kind of looks to large, the open area looks kind of out of proportion, for the rest of the car, could be cool though, I don't think I would do that to my car, but it's interesting to see a convertible, never made/even seen a convertible Charger, maybe that's why he did it... The roof line is kind of one of the best lines on those years 68-70 2nd generation, Chargers... :Twocents:
