Country music was murdered recently after a long battle with mediocrity.  Its murderer is thought to have been this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb9q1ScC4cg

Though it had previously suffered grievous injury at the hands of Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, and many others.

Pallbearers will be Shooter Jennings, Hank Williams III, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr., Robert Earl Keen, and Jerry Jeff Walker.

It will be cremated and its ashes will be scattered on the fields and churches of the deep south and the Appalachian mountains.

Country is dead. It has grown into what '80 rock grew into in the '80s. Rock became Pop-Rock, and now country has grown into Pop-Country. Carrie Underwood's music is nothing country.

THAT said, I like todays country music along with the '80's pop-rock :coolgleamA: And I love Jason Aldean and the songs I listed below :2thumbs:

This is NOT country!

Jason Aldean - Johnny Cash

What happens when you play a country song backwards??

Your dog comes home, your wife comes home, the mill rehires you, & you get your pick up truck back.

At least the dog comes home first

If your wife is yelling at the front door and your dog is barking at the back door, who do you let in first?

The dog of course. At least he'll shut up after you let him in.

Laugh all you all you want, but you know every time that song comes on the radio, you sing along....just like a Moped, or an ugly woman..You won't ride it in front of your friends, but all alone it's a different story...

Yuck, country. I change the station when it comes on. I would rather listen to talk radio than that crap. Working in the music industry I know many of the guys behind the artists. I would estimate that currently 80% of the backing musicians coming out of Nashville are Rock/Metal players "lowering themselves" to make money. There isn't a whole lot of passion in it for these guys. I believe it makes it way into the final product.

derailed

I think I would rather listen to any other sound in the world than any of the garbage they play on the country stations today.

Kern Dog

I saw you post this on Moparts. I guess you felt the need to add in the standard "Won't be down for breakfast" crap, as if everyone and everything lives in a 2 story house and dies at night before sunrise.

Orange_Crush

Yep, sure did...but if you look at the posting times, you'll see I posted it here first (don't you feel special?).  I felt my post was extraordinarily humorous and biting, so I saw it necessary to allow the folks at Moparts to benefit from my abundant intelligence and wit.

I decided to use the "breakfast" line here because it seems to be "de rigueur" anytime someone posts about a death.  In addition, using it to announce the death of country music seemed especially amusing since, as far as I know, country music does not actually eat.  That fact that it seem to have annoyed you is only a side benefit.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

Country music has been creatively stifled for the last couple decades already.  At least the crossover stuff is a new direction.

IMO it's a good thing when Wal-Mart might think twice about playing a new Country hit.

Hank Williams Sr. is Country.....

Jr. is outlaw country like Waylon etc...

Most of it nowadays is crossed with something else

Proving that even with the use of a 5 dollar word, you still are a follower instead of an innovator.

What is wrong with you man? Get a life and stop bitching about other peoples replies in almost every topic!
You must be one of those guys that have nothing to say in the real world because you are being dominated by someone.

I have used spell check after typing this and it said it was o.k. for me to post and for you to read...  :fu:
