Yes, but you have to jailbreak it OR pay for hotspot service. My understanding is It can serve your laptop on wireless network or USB.

it's called "tethering" and it's an added cost for your cell service.

Latest versiion of Iphone software has "Personall Hotspot" feature built in. You don't need to jail break the phone. This feature allows the phone to be a WiFi hotspot and you can connect with your laptop or any other WiFi enabled device and surf the web. Of course as already mentioned you need a Data plan with your cell phone provider.

I use this feature all the time.

I'm thinking on get an internet contract ( Data plan ) with the phone like I do with the modem. I simply want just to get rid off the express card with the carrier I have and use the phone with my regular cell phone carrier.

( I don't like the express card carrier service I'm using )
