Well, not the kind you were thinking.9 years ago I gutted this car to do the resto, got all the bodywork done and had it in primer, then stopped on it in to do the paint and bodywork on a friends car who has been waiting awhile for me to get to it.Then in 03 started an addition on my house which took a few years as I built the entire thing myself at night/weekends after my reg job.Following with many things on my plate, now finally back onto my B5 R/T 69.The light is now at the end of the tunnel(no punn intended),after the past few weeks, getting it running, fixing some bugs ,etc, got the hood on,and now today finally afters years this grill has been finished, assembled it and made its way onto the car, wired up,and lights tested.Yaaaaaaa!

Also want to add,in case some don't know, there are 4 diff part numbers on the headlight retainer cups, good thing I had my grill frame out of my black charger right next to this one with the headlights still in it.Don't know if it would have made a diff, but put them where they belonged anyway. Will post tommorrow with the appropriate numbers and where they go.

Looks outstanding !!!!!!   Nice job blacking out the core support (or, at least it looks like you did). You going to blacken out the front face of the lower core support?  The look of those parking lamps shining amber looks great against the B5 blue.....

I would have expected nothing less, Paul. Looks spectacular!  :drool5: :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:

Yes, those headlight buckets all have different numbers. Lefts & rights, inners & outers. I have a spare set here, I can check later for the numbers as well.

Keep posting more pics!!  :2thumbs:

Thanks guys,Bill I had the part numbers just did'nt post them, here how they go.....

Troy, when I went to paint/do the black out of the front of rad support,I can't remember if I asked in a post or asked someone directly, but was told it was a not so neat job from the factory as they sprayed the front of the support and brought it to the upper cross bar and let it mist away(sloppy)and that it was also brought down toward the lower support the same way and that the front of the lower support did'nt get any.So I went for the nicely taped off right to all the edges look rather than overspray. If I see that it was supposed to be painted,I just have to redo it,no big deal.Remember,I re-painted this whole entire car this past fall because it was the wrong shade of B5 blue to me,eng bay, jambs, under hood ,trunk, and outside, then sanded and buffed car ...........all over again.

Beautiful Paul! Good job and one done very well.  :2thumbs: I know that taste too. When I finished and hung my grille I must've gone out to the shop just looking at it several times a day. Its a big deal taking one of these 69 grilles down to clips and bringing it back to life......better, stronger, faster! (I can make the "6 Million Dollar Man" sound) Having never restored a car in depth before, I labeled everything, its location, orientation, fasteners etc before it came off the car. Stuff went back together the first time too, imagine that! Next to Q5, B5 is a "standard of excellence" color to me.
Now where's the pix of your buddy's car and the room addition? You know the drill. Post up.

twodko,it was this one I made a thread on

All of my pics of the house project are to large for me to post, and don't know how to resize them.
But basically, the addition on my house was quite a bit more than a room,it actually was larger than the orig side of my house. It was 30'x44', 2 floors, bottom is the garage attached to my orig 24'x24' garage while retaing a door to close off the back one to the front one.Second floor was 30'x44',a 20'x30' family room,a 10'x6' laundry room,2 15'x17' bedrooms(one for each of my children),a 5'x5' room for my hydro-air unit, and a 9'x9' bathroom with double bowl vanity so hopefully the kids won't fight.LOL
Then I stripped the entire existing garage and house of its alum siding and cedar shakes under that and 2 layers of roofing, what a mess!!!! Sided the whole thing now which was 38 squares.Did all the alum brake work, soffits, trim, etc. And on and on and on.....thats why it took a few years for me.
The pics you see of where the car is,is under the living space in the new addition,in front of the Charger is a 16' door that goes into the orig 24'x24' garage  of which I currently have 2 cars in there.Sorta my fav part of the build !!!!!LOL

How easy it is for RR's and Coronets having just three pieces to their grills, ntm, they repo the 69 RR grill for just about what it costs us for the trim!!!!!! And repo grills for 70 Cuda,70 RR,70 Challenger.
Another tough one is the 72 RR,they can be hard to find and be costly as well.
