Panther Pink 70 Value?

I was talking to a fellow Mopar guy about needing a hood for my 70 and he said I have about 4 of them. He then proceeds to tell me they're with an original Panther Pink 383 4bbl Charger. It's an original 4 speed car (the 18 spline one). All Galen Govier certified and all that jazz. It's apart and on a rotisserie but all the correct pieces are there. Guess the guy's gf bought it and lost interest and is interested in selling. I hope to get some pictures of it soon. Any idea how much the color would affect the value? Not that I need another project but once you catch the bug. She also has a 69.5 Superbee with a 440/6bbl in similar condition

Since there wasn't that many Panther Pink '70 Chargers, I think it would increase the value. I saw this one at Mopars At The Strip a few months ago. It was a 440 automatic car.

I'd think an original FM3 code would potentially increase the value by a significant amount.  Maybe up to $5000 as it sits.

I'm no expert on valuation (if I was, mine would be worth more...), but I'm thinking it could be a lot.

In this economy the panther pink color will add some value but only to those that care. Yes its a rad color and a 70 charger in panther pink and a 4 speed car is one of my dream cars but FM3 is still just a color option. I would say the $$$ value of the pink is comparable to a 4 speed car compared to an auto. Maybe tack on another grand or two.

If I'm remembering correctly, "typically" the 18 spline (Hemi) 4 speed came in 440 cars.  I say typically because we all know never say never.  You might want to check the V.I.N. and see if it may have been an original 440 car.  If so, again "typically" it should have (had) a Dana 60 rear.  If the V.I.N. says 383, you need to look at the tranny to see what V.I.N.it has.  Good luck.

Yup - 18 Spline  440 and Hemi's only. Dana rear would be part of that combo as well.

FM3 would definitely be an adder to those that desire it.

i think you're spot on. definitely increases it, my first thought was an extra 1000.

not to stir, but I'm sick of Galen  being the midis of Mopars, he he touched it, it decreases the value in my book LOL

and that's mainly because I have been near the receiving ends of one of his mis diagnostics on a car.


but I would agree it may add some money, but not a ton, and only to someone who really wants it. Rare doesn't always mean desirable. a 69 slant 6 Charger is rare, but I wouldn't pay more for it.

I always wanted an FM3 car...     the 4-speed is a nice addition but if it is originally a 383 then it is still just a disassembled 70 Charger...    not an R/T -  but still a really nice car.

FM3 is hit or miss. Even some people who like it, don't actually want to OWN one. Still, just due to the rarity, it is definitely a big plus. Add the 383 and 4speed its a very interesting ($$$) car.

I'll try to get some pictures and numbers this weekend. Right now all I know for sure is that it's on a rotisserie and it's in primer. I know what you mean about the Galen thing. Some folks like it some don't. I could go either way. I consider you guys my experts anyway. I considered painting my 70 Panther Pink just because not many folks do it but I decided to go with the original color. But if I got this car I would definitely paint it back to the original pink. I guess it all depends on how much she wants for it. If it's cheap enough I'll snatch it up otherwise I'll pass.

I agree.  My 383 4 bbl in my 69 came with a 23 spline trans and an 8 3/4 rear.
