Does anyone know how to tell an original six pack set up. I have a 6 pack set up with holley carbs and edelbrock intake. Intake has chysler stamped on it, also has firing order and cylinder #'s stamped on it. Looks all original but the car is a 69 so it's not an original 6 pack car.

Mine is a 69 1/2 setup, they are aluminum. I'll check the part # and get back with you. The metering plates inside the outboard carbs are shaped different and I think it shouldn't have a vent setup on the top of the center carb.

If it is a cast iron intake it is original.

If you post the list numbers and dates on the carbs it would help.

Is this going on an original 6 pack car?

RGA

The car is an original 69 rt car. The fender tag is missing so I don't know the options. Unless this is the only 69 1/2 six pack charger than it is not an original six pack car. Although it looks like an orifinal six pack set up. I was also told by someone else the first six packs were edelbrock aluminum.

Yes - All the 69-1/2 A12's had aluminum Edelbrock aluminum intakes. There were some on earlier original 70 440-6 cars as well but the majority were cast Iron in 70-71.

Even the ones you can buy now say Edelbrock on them.

Again - If you post the list numbers and dates on the carbs it would help.

If it is a real, dated setup I would sell it to someone that needs an original, buy a brand new setup and have no problems.....new is new.  :icon_smile_big:

I think it's aftermarket but someone here will tell me for sure. Also,I think I have a air grabber(or something "special") air cleaner. Any pics of these. My camera is not working.

RGA,any pics?
God must love stupid people....he made a sh**load of 'em....

Matco tools...guaranteed for a lifetime. Just not a human lifetime.

if it is alum intake it may be factory , if it is iron it is factory , period
the 4782 / 4783 #s look right but usually the rear carb is 1 # higher than the front
If the fuel inlet is on the left these are the race full mechanical carbs

I'll take some pics tomorrow, finally finished rebuilding center carb and 1 outer carb. 1 more and I'm done hopefully will be running by this weekend, still have never driven this thing more that 10 feet on and off a trailer. Are the front and rear carb interchangable ? I may have mixed them up when they were on the bench ?

Chryco Psycho

front & rear carbs are the same so yeah you can swap them , I don't know how many times I have looked at a 6 pack with the front on the back !!
