Oooooooorrrrrrrr, it's just a DC.com's trademark obit phrase.  But, in the end, it derives some of it's humor value from the fact that it bothers you so much.

My point with the complaint is that the repetitive use of the same phrase was getting old. When you see the same phrase used EVERY time another celebrity passes away, it makes me wonder....WHAT happened to the creativity and originality of us car guys?

I'll take the credit for bringing "won't be down for breakfast" here & infecting everyone with it.   

Until my arrival, no one else here has been creative enough to come up with as good of a catch phrase for the recently departed, so until there's a better one it looks like this one' seems like it's sticking.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't/have not read too many of these obit threads as they are normally just a link to a news site, and have no direct tie-in to the original poster. A MOPAR icon is one thing, be he a racer, designer, etc., but a movie star, rock star, tabloid star... nope...unless the poster knew this person. As far as members here not being "creative" enough to come up with a term for the newly departed, it is not a lack of creativity but an excess of civility (decency?) that holds most back. Rocket science this 'aint. But in that vein for future dead celebrities just use the time honored

"HE"S DEAD, JIM!" - (insert dead celebrity here)

I applaud your creativity. You started a trend that that caught on. The problem with humor is that it has a very short shelf life. The overuse of even THAT great line is comparable to an uncle that tells the same joke every day. He laughs his ass off while thinking that he is some clever genius. Even children know that the same joke gets less funny over time.

and that is why I continued to use it!  Just like here in NJ, we say Taylor Ham and not Pork Roll cause everyone here knows what you mean and are accustomed to it!
