16, I wanted a Chevy Vega but my dad found a 1968 Charger, gold on gold, 383 with 60k miles, center council for $1000. This was in 1984. One day it just would not start so I advertised it for sale and some mopar guys came along and pulled the instrument cluster out and fixed a short on the amp gauge. I felt sick when I saw them drive it away.

25, was tired of "dreaming" of having an old school muscle car. sold a bunch of star wars toys and other geek stuff on ebay, had some minor savings and got myself a '73 Charger SE with a 400.

since then, I sold that one and got a '69.

sold that '69 and got another more complete (but I've had to rebuild pretty much the entire mechanical part of it) '69.

I still have all my Star Wars stuff!!!!

i was 17. 69 318 auto on the column.

i traded a 70 sport satellite for it.. not a good decision. the charger had a salvage title and lots of rust. the satellite had almost no rust at all, brand new dual exhaust. a perfect deluxe interior.... i could go on and on. had to have a charger though.

my charger never made it on the road. ended up trading it for a 68 sport fury convertible.  from what i found out about my charger, it ended up in the hands of the fellow that owns the joe dirt car. he plans to make a clone of his out of it.
68 charger parts needed.

I was 15 when I got mine, in 1984, for $650, but wasn't allowed to drive it till I was 16. It had about 60k on the odometer, the a/c and the AM radio worked, but the windshield wipers were a bit sluggish. I worked like a dog to change out the interior, do bodywork, and dye the headliner, and my boss and friend painted it for me about 6 months after high school. It was green, ugly green, everywhere, I even painted inside the trunk, door skins, and under the dash behind the glove-box.

Where did the wheel opening moldings go?
There were none on the car and I don't remember any screw holes, but 43 years later, I could be wrong. I do remember that road wheels were on the window sticker, but the car had steel wheels and hub caps. It was a left over demo with about 2000 miles and wheels were swapped.

Age 46 for my first Charger.

Dozens of Mopars before that.

My father and I bought my Charger (50/50 split purchase) when I was 14 as a project car. Since then the floors, trunk, part of the frame, engine, transmission, interior, radiator, horns, and R/T emblems have been replaced. Next is the brakes, rear end, and when I am finally financially stable, body work.

17, 1996, $1500, found about 10 miles from mom and dads.  Wasn't looking for a charger specifically, just something Mopar.  Drove it around the block and fell in love.

1973, 318 2bbl/904 trans, needed tires and a/c components.

God I miss driving my Charger.  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

One day it'll be done......One day......

I was 22 but it was an 83 Omni Charger, does that count? :nana:  My dad had an 83 Charger I learned to drive on.  Later in 83 I had my first real charger a a 71 SE.  I traded that for an International Harvester Mail Jeep with the steering wheel on the wrong side.  We had some fun with that.  Had an extra steering wheel, I would start swirving and the passenger would hold the steering wheel out the window :smilielol:  It did not take much to amuze us.  I sold that and bought a 70 Super Bee (I wish I had that back!!!

Summer of 83. I was 19  as a passenger when my brother hit a pole with his 1970 440 4 Speed. We bought 2 chargers for $100 each to get the car back on the road. Took about a week when the car had a new front clip plus a paint job and we were rolling again. Nobody hurt pretty lucky at the time.

16 when I bought my first 68.  (Brother's friend wanted $650 - then spun a bearing and accepted $250 for it.)

age 18, bought a 68 for the 440 to put in my 70 challenger.  fresh paint yellow with black interior. bought for $1075 in 1995.  sold the body to a guy from michigan. (his name was Paul) his buddy bought my rust-free 71 4 speed gtx for $500.  both wrote me hot checks.  lesson learned very early.

The guy I bought the charger from had a 64k mile superbird that i could have owned for $15k.
