Pretty sure that is the real thing. That pic was an advertising promo pic for magazine circulation back then. Not sure but, that pic might have been from a Dodge ad in Playboy magazine. Anyway, that is a real picture. Must just be the angle of the shot that makes the women appear as tall as they do in it.
