I think it was more a case of "copycat" by Chrysler...the Mako Shark II Corvette was built almost 5 yrs earlier than the Charger III concept mock up

And the Mako Shark was a functional car, were as the Charger III was just a roller, in fact the front spindles/steering on the Charger III was actual made from schedule 80 pipe and pipe fittings cobbled together

Spend a few minutes every couple days on ebay. After about a month I was able to locate a copy of the 88 issue of Mopar Performance that has my car in it.    I bet someone will have an old ad or mag with it in it.  It's like my car too, right down to the horrible hubcaps.
