383 water leak

Just pulled my 383 and the rear header bolt on the passenger side dumped water when I pulled the bolt.  Is this normal?  It was a bolt and not a stud.

there is water ports that the exhaust manifold bolts screw into. sometimes i find i have to use the thread tape when replacing gaskets.

The factory used studs instead of bolts for this very reason. Just make sure to seal the bolt(s) up good when re-installing . . . nothing wrong with them (sometimes they are easier with headers,) but I prefer the studs.
