a silly boot lid question

 just wondering why my  blue 68 boot lid has the seperate boot skin (as in pic)and my both my mates 68's are smooth,,?? why the difference,
when all you own is a hammer, every job  resembles a nail.

yours is  very early production   some time  in late 1967  ,  

you should have these extra tail light panel supports too ,    unless the deck lid has  been swapped sometime from an early bulid 68 :yesnod:

Yeah, it's an early '68 thing.  My car is a SPD of 9/18/67 and has the separated skin as well.
