Got a question about a Neutral Safety Switch.  On my 727 auto transmission I have a 3 prong switch.  Is that right for the 69 charger?  Where do I find a wiring harness and where do the wires go?
Thanks for your time
Kenny

68 used the 1 wire connection .69- used three prongs thats the right switch for your car.The harness goes from wiper connection plug on firewall to transmission plug.At the plug the 1 pins for safety switch and 2 pins for reverse lights for power and lights

The change to the 3-prong switch occured in May 15, 1968.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

That makes sense!  According to the fender tag, the build date was 9-19-68.

Looking at my schematic , Im following the violet wire from the  nss  to the bulkhead connecter  than runs  white up to the radio connecter.     brown to the stater relay G.      black*  to bulkhead connecter  white* to  trunk wiring connecter   than violet to  a single  lft side socket 1156, and on to the rht back up light.  The other lft side back up light has a black  wire from the taillight pigtails.            Can someone explain this wiring, other the brown , which must be ground, other than that im lost.   Why does the violet branch off to the single inner most taillight, single prong 1156 bulb,  while all the other taillights get the black wire from the pigtail. :shruggy:

Ok, so i thinking,  brown ground,      violet hot feed to switch,      black    back- up  light,     v iolet in trunk  is  hot feed to back-up light, with feed to the tailight 1156 lft side. Im guessing this single feed is because the other bulbs on black pigtails already uses the limits on circuit.

Turns out the schematic is slightly wrong,  1969 SERVICE MANUAL, Dodge ,  charger/coronet/dart.  8-98  Electrical wiring diagrams.  Fig 4  body wiring diagram charger.   Shows 1 wire coming from violet lead to  lft inside socket 1156 bulb. Not true acutally comes from black wire group as you might expect.  Then it shows the violet wire  on past that to the rht backup light.   true.   The lft backup light wired from the black wire group,NOT,  acually wired from 2nd  violet wire  As you would expect.   Ok  small difference I know.  Hopefully this will help  anyone going by this schematic.  Bumped into it trying to figuer out neutral safety wiring.
