Great thread to start, though some are definitely not what I would call (cough, cough) "classics".

Out of pure bias, I love the yellow and black Challenger for the color combo, and the 72 Runner for the same reason+. Is that an original N96 deck/hood stripe car? Awesome!

Other than the 69 Charger 500 and the 72 Charger race car, classics in my yard:

Cruiser 1961 Chrysler Newport 2-door hardtop/361/727 pushbutton/Tahitian Torquoise over black and silver.
Ratty-rod 1960 Plymouth Suburban 2-door Wagon/383/4-speed/3.91 sure grip "Atomic Energy Commission" car.
(Lousy pic) In pieces/progress 1972 Plymouth Roadrunner/400/727 EV2 Tor-Red over black bucket interior
(no pic) 1978 Chevy C20 350/400 "Ozzy Osbourne - Chihuahua Express" (classic? Well it's old enough to be licensed as one)

1969 Charger 500 #232008
1972 Charger, Grand Sport #41
1973 Charger "T/A"

Love that car ( RR ).  :drool5:  Are those factory stripes?  They look great.
Thanks. Yes, factory '72 V21/V25 stripes.
Wow, never seen them before, ever.  Any interesting info/numbers about the car?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I don't have the numbers at my disposal, but the 72 V21/V25 option was fairly rare, only available in combination with the Air Grabber. Theoretically you could get it on a Satellite as well, but I'm not aware of any being documented. Definitely a love/hate stripe and very often not replaced after a repaint. I'd dare say most people look at it and think it is an aftermarket stripe.

When I bought the car, my quest was specifically for an Air Grabber car, preferably with a 340 and four speed. Came pretty close to getting a couple different four speed cars, but couldn't close the deal. Found this one last year (auto equipped), and have spent the last twelve months sorting through numerous mechanical maladies, many of which I've documented on DC.com. Previous owner did a nice job finding all the right parts, but not such a good job putting it together. I've already had to replace the fuel tank and rebuild the transmission, front suspension and engine. Differential is probably next. ::) On top of that, it got wrecked back in May, but those repairs were pretty much contained within the engine build timing.

Love the baja bug! I had a couple of '66s back in the late 70's that I used as daily drivers until the engines went south. Then after a quick rebuild it was time to cut off the back around the engine, and remove the fenders on one. We had a ball in the woods and at the sand pits with that until my buddy rolled it and destroyed it... :brickwall:

There was a really nice '72 RR for sale at Carlisle with the V21/V25 AirGrabber option.  It was V2 orange with a black bench/column shift Auto.  400CI.  Decent price as well...asking 25k

Non-Charger and not even a Mopar, pretty close to what I was driving when I was 18 so I had to have another.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

That car belongs to the guy that sold me mine. At one time, he had three 72 V21/V25 Roadrunners: one Lemon Twist, one Petty Blue, and one Torred. Of the three, that's the last one, but he has since acquired another which is still under restoration at last check.

Like I said, he puts together some nice cars, but (on mine at least) the mechanicals are somewhat questionable.

I agree with your wife but it's not that you don't need another car, you probably need something I have so we can do an even swap.  :yesnod:

I love swaps!!!! what do you have in mind?  I would probably rather trade my wife than one of the cars though.  They don't give me as much trouble, and you know how much trouble these old cars are!!! :smilielol:
