Hey Drop, peek at this quarter

Is this quarter salvagable by a good bodyman, or should I plan on buying a new skin?  There's not lot of rust, just a really crappy job of old bodywork.  The lower part of the quarter does not curve under the car the way it is supposed to, and sticks out about 3-4 inches compared to the other side.  Can the welds be popped, and things lined back up again?

can probably be saved...   doesnt look TOO bad...   then again it it is sometimes cheaper just to patch it

I would consider a lower patch panel as wel,l depending on how bad the rust is under that, and how high the damage goes.

I'd have to agree with Mark on this one. Its hard to tell intell you get it striped down and with out being there to be able to get a hands on look at it. As long as the metal isn't stretched too bad it can be saved.

Thanks guys.

Dan, where did you pick up that panel?   :icon_smile_question:

It looks like a pretty good one.

The only place I have been able to find that lower rear panel was Laysons Restorations. I bought one for
my wifes gold 68, and we only used about half of it. I like to replace only what ''needs'' to be replaced.
The more original sheet metal I keep thats in good shape the better I feel.

I should be able to get by with just the very bottom portion, not the whole quarter.   I'll probably consult with my bodyman, and then get with Laysons if need be.  Thanks.
