Why do they sell lifters without cams and cams without lifters?
I always thought they had to be replaced as a set.

You can replace lifters on an old cam, and you might not want to buy lifters from the same company you bought the cam from, or maybe you need a different style lifter since its impossible to know its better they sell separate.
