Power Steering Fluid Recommendation

What is the best fluid to run in my TRW (hex shaft) pump?

 !  use the  OEM mopar  stuff !!  Clear one  cant remember the part number off hand , will go check later if you need it         lots use ATF fluid also

I use the ATF...but that's just me

I use the power steering stuff that Prestone sells.  It is clear for the most part, maybe even a bit amber.  Dave Walden posted a topic about this on Moparts when his Valiant got deducted points for it not having the red ATF fluid in it.  Right on the bottle and owners manual, it says to use Mopar power steering fluid and to NOT use ATF as the rubber is different for the hoses due to pressures and such from what I remember.

yeah read something along them lines also about ATF     ,  lots  use it , & even seen the later saginaw pumps fitted to some 80s fords filled with ATF from the factory , but were power racks not boxes ,   in   some power steering pump seal kits / some rebuilt pumps  instructions  i have seen !, it says before fitting o rings etc etc coat them in ATF , then at the bottom  of the page sometimes it says use correct power steering fluid not ATF  , have taken newly rebuilt saginaw pumps  apart ( 3  from different re manufactures) & 2 boxes ( long story )  found inside  ATF , well it smelt & looked like ATF , but instructions on pump/ box said don't use ATF
 
the firm feel box i got was put together with  & been tested with the correct clear fluid


i have read on , one lot of  hydro boost brakes instructions on the net  it says don't use ATF !!
 

my thinking on this is that ATF if more prone to foaming / frothing !!    

i recon that with todays technology , with rubbers & manufacturing processes you can run one or the other , it  prolly don't make any difference , but don't mix the two together ,  ! the fluid turns in to a pink looking milk shake till the fluid gets hot ( long story ) , was tying something with the crap rebuilt yearone box i bought !!   thats a even longer story in its self
