Getting called a geek... BY a geek!

I was suprised today to be called an official super-geek by a friend of mine.  I was going to let it go, but he kept pushing and pushing and pushing it on me, asking if I liked Star Wars and what not and finally he said I was so bad that I needed a trophy to announce my geekdom to the world.

Now get this... the guy who called me a geek is 22, unemployed, not in school, and lives with his mom. I asked him and he doesn't plan to move out. He wants to live in her house in her attic even when he's married. I'm 21 and live with my mom, but only until I finish college at the end of winter quarter. I have a full time job (well internship) as a software engineer, but that's because I learned that stuff in college and its only the natural course. I don't code just for fun, and I hardly know anything about computer hardware. I don't even know how fast my own computer is and I've had it for a few years. This guy knows hardware inside and out and can take one apart and put it back together and spends much of his spare time on the computer.

He's also too shy to ever approach a girl. We worked together about a year ago and there was this hot girl also working there. I could go up to her anytime with confidence and talk to her and flirt, but this guy was way too shy to ever talk to her, let alone walk past her, all he would do was to make rude comments about her "nice ass" behind her back.

This guy also couldn't swing a baseball bat to save his life, and I doubt he could shoot hoops either. I played for the school team in basketball and baseball, and I can throw/catch a football pretty good too. What's worse is that he sits at home all day on the computer, sometimes chatting with his "serious" internet girlfriend who lives in Alabama (although I think they recently broke up), and when he's not on the computer, he told me he likes to watch Battlestar Galactica episodes. I'm more into watching American Muscle Car episodes, or stuff like Overhaulin'.

Now I doubt anyone really cares about any of this. But my nerd "friend" who was making fun of me is also on this message board, and he knows who he is, I just wanted to get my point across.

My neighbor whose pole building shop I drive by came out of it one day when I was idling the 440 by with open headers. His shop has thin metal siding and a similar roof, and he was wondering what the heck made it shake and vibrate so much, like a tank was going by or something, I just laughed.

Right now I can only imagine what it sounds like for a 440 .  When I started pulling out the 318 (some ppl said sounds like a 383)  and ran open headers the neighbors came out because they thought something fell on me.

Kinda sounds like the old "pot calling the kettle black" syndrome.  I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Sounds like you have all the moves with the ladies and he will be left at home alone with his Mommy to play with himself.

Hard to tell. I guess that is something in their nature. I just purchased Sebring Convertible and I had questions like "Why do you need that car? What will you doo over the winter? You'll get sick yourself diving with open roof?....."

He's usually pretty cool but sometimes out of nowhere he'll just get all strange and start making fun of me, IM'ing me at work constantly trying to degrade and make fun of me.... who wants to live with mom? I dont, when Ill afford house Ill move into my own place, Jon as far as I remember you still live with mom and drive her car often, hmmm. At least Ive got 3 my own cars and I dont have to drive my mom's car (oh ya ur moms car is import, so shall I go ahead and call you ricer since you call everyone ricer that owns or drives import) I can take apart computer, ya. so.... if you cant you have to be physically retarded as it doesnt take much to take apart computer, much easier than putting on 440 headers.
