the mirror on this 70

Wasn't this mirror, a late option in 1970?

Closer to the look of a Challenger mirror, instead of the chrome type.

Just wondering, I saw one other Charger with pained mirrors.

Yes, it was a late 70 option to go with the sport or rallye which were body painted or, I believe, chrome.  VERY similar to the Challenger mirrors but not the same.  The pedestals are completely different and the heads are slightly as well.  The mirrors off of mid-70's A-bodys are closer (close enough to pass, unless you know the difference).
Check out my full thread and progress here.

Right the drivers side A Body is a dead ringer for the 70 B Body with the difference being the remote control cable, it's much longer for an A Body due to how it must be routed. The Passenger side Ralley mirror for just 70 B Body is angled much more then the A body to match the position the mirrors surface when adjusted for use. I have a correct painted set for my Charger and have pics posted, do a search for "70 Ralley mirrors" and you should find it.  (If you want to see what I mean.)

Thanks for the replies,

Here is a late May 12 car just off the transporter.

Thanks again, for the replies. The 70 Charger looks good with either mirror.

Yes - A few more of this one at home.

I'll try and post later.

Here is the very young new owner. His mother snapped these pics at the dealership moments after it came off the new car hauler.

Note:

Battery cap is off......mechanic probably topping it up.

Black power steering cap - as it should be.

The kinked breather hose.

Thr HEMI sticker on the air cleaner lid....not all had them.

The 2 window stickers. The boy loaded her up!

The original owner (pictured) was reunited with his Charger at Sema a few years ago after a fresh resto by the present owner.

These pics were dated June of 70 on the back of them. SPD is 512.

Great pictures Jim!
Thanks for posting them. That young man was extremely fortunate!

And if he had even a shadowing of forethought, he'd have an extremely nice car now. :yesnod:

I thought this might be the same car, but I notice the mirrors are different.

Mine has the V21

Want me to fill in those blurry spots?  :D

Your (by far superior) Charger was built 4 days before my puppy.

Shouldn't the steering wheel be wood grain?

I think the R/T got the woodgrain instrument panel as standard. The wood wheel was extra.

On the non-R/T (and R/T) the SE package would get you the wood instrument panel and the wood wheel and the leather etc.

Yup - found it on Barry's site.   http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1970/70_Charger0022.jpg

Yup - That's mine. That is a buddy - the previous owner sitting in it. I bought it shortly after that pic. Was that the year Mr. Norm was there and the Charger and I think another buddies survivor yellow 70 Roadrunner were parked under a tree nearby?

Here is a (crummy) pic of the survivor RR, Challenger and Charger at the Chrysler Streetsville show...
