Hy, I`m from Romania, Bucharest. I want to buy a Charger but i dont know were to start. So i think the firs step is to contact the people who got it, namely you, americans. ;D Can you tell me were can i find some real prices?

RD

welcome to the site.  if I were you, I would talk to charger_croatia to see what he had to go through to get the charger he purchased from here in the U.S. to him.  that is a starting point.  after that, its just determining which style you like, finding one, then getting it shipped over to you.  that is the simplified form of course.

THE CHARGER PUNK

depends on the condition you could get a piece of trash anywhere from $1500-$3500  or a decent project for around $6500 or get a restored r/t for around 18-$20,000-MATT

Don't forget to count on overseas tarnsport. Prices went up lately. I paid $1350 for container tarnsport to port Rijeka (for that car size) but I heard that now it would be around $1600. Than inland transport in the US to the nearest port - depending where car is located but I would say from $400 up to $1000.
And than you need to add transport costs from European nearest port to your place (don't know  what that could be but roughly I would say 1000EUR). This means additional transport costs can go from  $3000 up to $4000 for you.

Of course you need to check Romanian Customs regulations, taxes etc.

Calling CB to help with his information.

I think so Nacho.  ;)
CB had much better price for Belgium than this one. But "my" container had to travel through Mediteranea sea, than unload/load to smaller ship suitable for Adriatic sea etc. When count everything, even my price was not that bad.

I don't know why "spell check" didn't mark "tarnsport" as wrong word  ???

My shipping will be probably to Bilbao on Cantabric sea, north of Spain, so no Mediterranean cruise... But if don't, will be to Valencia or Malaga ( Mediterranean sea )... All are very commercial routes. Malaga is just entering on Mediterranean sea

Dacia is Romanian brand, but it is taken over by Renault. There are some improvements on quality (mechanics) but desing is still just a little better than Yugo.

I think that is an earlier Dacia than 96 but maybe when was already take over by Renault, because is the R16 or 12 style from mids 70s

Like Russians Ladas... they took the 70s Fiats design and also mehanicals stuff on laters 80s and earliers 90s.

EDITED post: checked the link and is right is a 96.

Well, well, welll...I`ve been missing for 3 days (went skiing with my Dacia) and now you`re loughing of my car, ha ?? But I`m afraid you are wright...its a lousy car- 1.4 liter, 60 BHP, no electronics. But thats the old model from 1996. Now Renoult bought the company and they came with a new model called Dacia Logan and this new one looks great, the engine and gearbox are made by Renault and the rest is made by us. I`ll try to find a pic with my Dacia and one with the new one (pls dont lough of mine  :flame: ).

Anyway...what do you think about the new Challenger? I think its great, curious about the price though... :icon_smile_question:

Nacho-RT74

That Dacia Logan is the same Renault Logan just with emblems and some trim, like the gril, differences :P...  Looks nice in Person. I know it because they are being sold here ( Renault one, even also olds Dacias are ridng here ).

About Challenger... is only a concept, PROBABLY WILL LOOK SO FAR AWAY FROM THE REAL ONE that you won't notice any shared part.

When the Charger concept was released i didnt like it too much and the new Charger is really ugly, but Challenger concept is great so maybe its a little hope that the german ingeneers wont make the series Chally to look like their futuristic cars.

COKE

Is Dacia still building those things based on the Renault 12? :o

I bought my car in this forum two years ago.I paid $18.000 for it and it has needed a lot of job.
Yes, it is a R/T with a performed 440 ,4 speed and Dana 60,but it paid too much money for it.
I bought it cause the guy was willing with send it  to Spain. And is not easy to find somebody wlling with ship a car overseas.
I did it ,but i not advise it.
If i were you,i would look for in Europe. The shipping costs, the taxes and duties for the imported cars are very high.
Also i don,t know how are the things in Rumania to get the title and license plates for  cars from countries out of the EU.
They are driving me crazy to register it like a historic vehicle.

69´Charger R/T,440 ,4-speed,Dana 60 3.55.

96dacia

No, they are not building that model based on Renault 12. Its a new one now. :)
I can register it here as a historic vehicle if it is older than 30 years, and it is. Whats bad with historical registering?

COKE

Older than 25 here.

"Whats bad with historical registering?"

Oh,is a personal trouble. All  depends with what kind of people (Technical laboratory) are you dealing.
I,m having troubles with the wheels combo.I have 295 in the rear and 245 in the front,so they are driving me crazy with the spare wheel.Due that front and rear tire sizes are diferent and due they don,t know what size of spare  should i use, they say that  i should to mount the original tires F70 r14  :o

It,s amazingto see  how they are registering  low riders, top chops, even military vehicles, like historic vehicles and they are giving  me troubles with the spare wheel.
It is my particular war.It not means  you are going to have troubles with the historic registering.
Regards.
69´Charger R/T,440 ,4-speed,Dana 60 3.55.

96dacia

Why dont you put 4 same tires , same spare weel, then go register it and back home change them again with the 295/245 `s?

COKE

Hello Dacia,
My English is very limited, but i,m going to try to explain it to you,

When i bought the car, it had a set of 245/60 r14 mounted in the four corners.I still have these tires mounted in the 14" magnum wheels stored in my garage.
The trouble was the car was urgently  needing new brakes  when i bought it .The original calipers and discs  were a piece of rust ,so i did mount  a  pair of 11  3/4" police car discs  with Dodge Viper calipers.
These brakes does not fit with the 14" wheels. They need at least a 15" wheel.
This is the trouble.

However,i know a lot of guys who have registered their cars with diferent front and rear tire sizes .
One of them used one of those  flat spare wheels used in modern cars.We call them "Biscuit" here.
I,m sure you know what i mean.
It seems to be valid for some people and not valid for other people(Like me )

Like i said before, all depend with what kind of people are you dealing.
