anyone ever try the mustang t-5 swap

Rolling_Thunder

that is kind of broad...   a mustang T5 swap into a mustang ? a mopar ? what year trans ?

The downside to the T5 is the strength - they are considered very weak and generally dont work well behind most mopar engines...      I have seen one in an early A body with a small 318 in it...    just a nice cruiser...

what did you want to know about it ?
1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

1964 Dodge Polara 500 - 440 / 4-speed / 3.91 Sure Grip

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / A-518 / 3.23 Sure Grip

i was thinking bout installin it behind a 451 stroker

as stated - the downside to the T5 is the strength...     the transmission is a good design but lackluster compared to the TKO series trans...         it could work - just make sure the car never hooks up on the street or you'll be picking up pieces for a while.

If healthy 5.0s are breaking them, I wouldn't anticipate a long life behind a mopar unless you baby it

XS29L8

I have a friend that went through 4 of them behind a 347 in a light Mustang before manning up and getting a Tremec.
As stated, I can't imagine one lasting behind a big block in a heavier car.
