I met a guy at Dunkin Donuts this morning that told me he worked for Dodge in 68,69 and 70 as the guy that prepped the new cars coming in.  His job was to check that everything electrical worked correct and prep the car. his comments were,
The Dart GTS was one fast car.
He didn't care for the Coronet R/T cars.
The Challenger cars were junk and rode like junk ( sorry ).
The common problem with the 440 was doing ring jobs.
The Charger was the best of all of them, it rode great also.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

cool story (nice charger also)....wonder what he drove back then?  I am always amazed when I drive my charger (which hasnt been that long) how many people stop to talk to me...I always get in trouble by my wife because I get home late due to talkers!

I was thinking the same thing...

Funny how everyone had, knew, worked, or some how was related to the charger..... :-\
Twin Turbo, Fuel Injected, Coil-on-Plug, 69 Charger.
Little to no cutting to make it all fit.

Cool Story! I was talking to an old timer one day that said he worked for Chrysler back in late 60's early 70's. He was telling me that they would play around in the cars in the parking lot, before loading them up on car haulers. He told me one time he was in a 69 Dart GT, raising hell in the lot, lost control and slammed it into a light pole. He said they took the car back in the plant to repair it.

Interesting enough, the guy that built my engine worked for chrysler during the late 60s and through the 70s. (so I've been told) He originally built it for himself, then sold it to a member on here, then he never had a chance to use it and sold his charger, then I bought it from him!

I hope the first start goes well....   it's been sitting for a while.

My favorite car has been the Charger since i was a little kid!!!!  My favorite car! I just fell in love with it the first time my grandpa had showed me it in his garage!!  "One day I will own that car.."  sure enough, after 15 or so years.. it was mine!  only sad thing i regret is that he never got the chance to see me start the restoration project.

I'm sure he would have been "oh boy, I tell ya!  You're doing it right! Look at that!  That's my Grandson!"  (..almost been six years now since his passing)
