What does the door buzzer mechanism on a 69 Charger look like that is connected to the yellow wires and where does it sit in the dash?   :shruggy: Any help or info would be appreciated.  Thank you

BananaDan

Below is a picture of the buzzer.  Here it is installed.  If you have a FSM, you can also see it in the blown-out dash drawings.

Thanks Dan,
I have a FSM but it only really shows vaguely what it looks like and where it is, although not enough detail in my opinion if it's missing completely.

Is it still an available part? I'm guessing not as yours looks NOS...

BananaDan

I found mine on eBay, they're out there, and yes - NOS.  I paid less than $40, here is the auction I won.

Headlight buzzer... My mistake.... If you have an extra Nacho I'll take it, a buzzer that is...

I have the yellow wires but thought they were connected to the door switches. I'll have to look into this a bit more...

I double checked again and it is correct as far as wiring goes up to the accessory wiring. It is the "lamp on reminder buzzer"

The only accessory diagram in the FSM that I can find is for a dart. So where does the wiring go from here ? I suppose that is part of the A01 Light Package... I assume my car didn't have the light package as I don't have any of those options that Just 6T9 CHGR posted earlier... Whats with the asterisk next to the A01 option on the list?

BananaDan

The buzzer gets plugged into a 3-headed plug on your dash harness. Search for my labeled dash harness thread in the electrical section. The accessory harness is also needed for connecting the switch in your ignition switch that triggers the buzzer. I have a 69 a01 accessory harness if you need one. PM me. I have it with me here in Carlisle if you're here. I was going to sell it here but I won't if you are interested.

What did the factory use as a Map Light delete then on cars without the A01 package?

BananaDan

A metal plate.  I have one of those also.

PN on the one I have is 2983696. As far I remember its a 70 e Body piece, BUT the same function I think. The diff is the braket shape... the screw location turns toward the prongs, opposite to the one you have.

just let me know and if so, I have a friend going to USA at the end of this month so he can get it shipped from FL to save international shipping
