Well,

Took the day after the 4th off so I could bring the lizard up to the speed show and finally get the Dyno done.

Had it done up at Marysville Speed and Custom shop and they did a great job.  :2thumbs:

First time he ran it he agreed with me that it definitely did have a lean surge issue and suggested be pull the center carb of and re-jet it. When we did we found that it had 62 jets in it. We then bumped that up to 67's and it runs much better and the lean surge issue is now a thing of the past for me.

For those curious... I'm posting the results of the first run before the jet change and after. Along with a nice little Video at the end here for you all to enjoy of the "AFTER".  :2thumbs: :icon_smile_big:

Before we re-jetted-

What size motor do you have?

440 six pack. bored 30 over though. No headers. just stock hp exhaust. Very stockish. I'm sure some tweeking could bump this thing up more but I'm pretty happy with it.  :2thumbs:

If you paint the car any other color than green you will gain another 50 hp at least! :nana:

Sounds great anyway though...... :icon_smile_big:

Kelly,
Looking good and sounding sweet - 6pack does make a difference.  Good to see the Lizard out and about.

Funny you bring that up Mike. He let me do that for free but warned me that the owner is thinking about installing a camera recording system in the dyno room and charging people for that in the future. Guess it's good I got that done when I did.  :2thumbs:

If he started out with lets say 375HP at the crank that would equate to about 33% loss through the drivetrain to the rear wheels +- any other factored variables.

440

I thought 15% was the general rule for Manuals and 20% for autos... of course there are other variables but anywhere around that range was my understanding....

Still sounds awesome...

Yeah thats what the guy was telling me there at the dyno that HP doesnt mean much because of the loss thru the drivetrain system. He said the torque is the number you really want to look at when the motors in the car.

If I would have had it dyno'd before the motor was dropped into the car the numbers probably would have been much higher im sure.

If anyone wants to somehow calculate out the approximate 33% loss and give me an approximate hp at the crank number Im all ears.  ;)

I believe it's actual about a 20% as well for an automatic too. Thats what they told me at the dyno.

I'm pretty happy just having the data sheet before and after and video from the dyno he let me do. Thats just good stuff.

Thing sure did sound great after he changed those jets out for me. It was running straight premium that day and very happy.

I was just throwing that 375 number out there as a base line for a 440 magnum engine in stock form. I wouldnt focus too much on the numbers. Its how it performs and feels on your butt dyno that really matters!  :2thumbs: That is a good combo and sounds strong  :yesnod:
