I am kinda curious where you found that donor roof. It looks very familar.

If you want to build a GL, build it, it is your car and you can do what ever you want with it no matter what others think! :nana:

It actually came with the car when I bought it. So no idea before that.

Good score dude.
Maybe if you're unsure on the GL thing, have it painted HO anyway (cos they look stunning) and just have some vinyl decals made. They're easily removed when you're over the DOH thang.
Or do what I did and make magnetics to put on on the odd occasion you want to Duke up.

Gotta love a '69

Yeah I'm thinking Big Bad Orange if I can't afford the colors from my truck, cuz 7 years ago that paint was expensive. I had enough of the 2009 Hemi Orange to paint the charger that color (I added extra pearl... alot extra pearl) but ended up giving my dad that paint to do his '71 Duster

Charger on Back burner 'til we get my Dad's Duster in Paint, in the next couple weeks, then Head first in the Charger, just scored a 440 for the Charger, trading my other 383 I bought last year for The 440 (race motor) sitting in the Duster. Hopefully It'll be on the street by end of summer in black primer, and in paint by next spring! Gunna build the motor to run just outside of the caging zone at our local track, which is High 11's. I just know if I cage it I'll kick my own ass, (My Grandpa already threatened me about it). I Will have more pics up soon as we start doing more metal work.

Update: just bought the passenger side of my grille and a perfect passenger fender (off a '68) I'm debating deleting the marker lights, or just filling the 68 light and cutting a square light, also got some new around the grille chrome, front bumper, and the headlight door openers.

Just what the world needs.... ANOTHER General Lee.
Come on, man.... REthink your plans. I grew up watching the show, and I LOVE those cars, but driving a General is comparable to a Star Trek fan walking around everyday wearing his star fleet uniform saying "Live long and prosper".

I'll be replacing the dixie horn with this then

Can I get some more pics of your d100? Any comments on it? I am current trying to buy a yellow d100 with a 318.  Your truck looks badass!

Thanks  :2thumbs:

Might as well make it a General Lee now because if you don't people will tell you for the rest of your life that you should have. I hear that line of BS all the time and people think they're so funny when they say it, as if they are the first person to have thought of it. "Hey, you should paint it orange and put a rebel flag on top, hu, hu, hu, hu..." That or they call it a Challenger. ::)

lol, i actually just painted a rattle can partial flag on the roof yesterday cuz i was bored, i decided I'm going to paint it like a general til i can afford the paint i really want, (since single stage Nason BBO is cheaper than the blue and purple PPG I want) then im going to paint it two toned like the truck but keep the push bar on it and do a color matched purple blue and silver flag on the roof (something cool and separates mine from the others)

SG1022, some comments I do have is if you end up doing a engine swap on it (big block) make sure you buy the mounts first, I learned the hard way took me 2 years to find the correct ones, (440 source had 'em on sale or clearance for $15 bucks a piece) oh and DONT shave the door handles It'll come back to haunt you, my bumper is off a I wanna say 74-76 Ford pickup and the marker lights (if you like 'em) are off a.... 87 Honda Civic... also I relocated the gas tank to under the pickup using a eagle station wagon gas tank at one point (with the flip down license plate), it dumped fuel every time I'd take off (that was fun when gas was cheap, cuz people would follow me til I stopped so I'd drive through subdivisions taking rediculous routes then finally stop for them to tell me it was leaking) now It has a fuel cell. but where the plate flips down we are gunna put a hide a way hitch so i can tow the charger to the drags with it.

WOW! Badass truck. I love the way you accented the sweptline style with the two-tone.

The one I am looking at is a camper special. So it has the HD springs in the back. I'll post more info/pictures tomorrow.

http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/xx51/sgcustomrifles/photo55.jpg

There are the pictures.

It's a Camper special, so it has HD springs, rear step bumper, larger side mirrors(since been replaced), and probably some other stuff I am forgetting.

The truck itself has two saddle tanks in each rear fender between the cap,and rear wheels. The Main tank is also behind the seat. It has a rebuilt 318/727, with dual exhaust. The thing sounds great! :coolgleamA:

I really like the two-tone look. Now, what colors do I go with.  :scratchchin:  :2thumbs:

I'd probably keep the drive train as-is, and just repaint the body. I've got a 3500 dually Cummins if I want to pull anything. The truck is in fantastic shape, with no dings, all chrome trim, and some scratches in the bed(I would put line-x in it).  I think just a cleaning/buffing would make it shine.

ChargerD100

If I had a long bed I'd do it the color yellow as the '70 chargers with a DUDE C stripe and on the hump in the hood if you see where I did the 2 silver stripes outlining it, I'd do 2 black stripes or one solid black stripe blacking out that area  :Twocents: but if you come up with a good two tone make sure you post some pics cuz I'm excited to see D100's becoming popular to "street rod" Truck like the C10's that EVERYONE does

my 68 fender has now been changed to a '69 and roof is on it's way to finally being welded on to the car instead of just sitting, also picked up a 550 horse 440 and a manual transmission, so the Charger will become a 4 speed sometime soon when I come up with the rest of the parts, but will be a automatic 'til then, no pics this time phone/camera died...
