Is the shaft a tapered shaft. I'm putting on the pittman arm and the wheels start turning before it goes up all the way. I know there's a gap but not a 1 inch gap, so I'm wondering if its tapered. I know I've got to get the wheels on the ground to tighten it up.

If it is torqued to the right specs there is usually a thread or 3 showing past the nut....It wont go all the way up the splines.

:iagree:  yep MW got it  :yesnod:   if your using the OEM nut & spring/split washer  will only be up to 2 or 3 threads showing , can't remember forsure  but think the pitman arm is a taper bore  , but don't quore me not 100%  :scratchchin:

If I remember right the torque has to be 175 lbs. on the pitman arm
I came here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, but I'm all out of bubble gum.
