Sorry to hear about your car. It was probably some tree lover that drives a prius. When I was 17 I lived in the city and had my tires slashed, hoodpins stolen, oil dumped on car, and eggs thrown on car right after I got it painted. This did not all happen at once, it was over a 2 year period. People that do things like that are just cowards. They are lower than the bacteria eating the sh*t in my septic tank.

You dont mess with a persons stuff, objects cant defend themselves. If you have a problem with someone..you take it to them. I have only had someone mess with my car twice, I thought an eye for an eye would be good. Instead I went after them. When dealing with someone low enough to screw your car up it seems like you have to dish it back( if you know who it is). A fist to the face can be quite the stress relief!! If that doesnt work, the material property is in the game, Just watch your possesions. It never ends. Sorry to hear it.

  My Duster was raped when it popped a throwout bearing and left me stranded near a redneck bar during a 3 day Florida rain. I got sick and couldn't get to the car for rescue for 48 hours. 4 new tires slashed in the sidewalls, window busted out, seats slashed and battery stolen by cutting the cables off. I had no coverage for this and lost the nice little Duster I traded my 65 ragtop Mustang for as I had no money to save it. Yeah but at the moment sometimes you just need to let off some steam. Well I finally got my suspension and steering completely fixed (never done anything like that in my life) feel good about that. now I get to drive my girl!!! Ive got this buddy of mine who says he can fix up all the vandalism just got to bring some beers over. I went to les schwab to get it aligned and they said they cant align it cause theres just a tiny bit of slop (which shouldn't be there cause i just replaced everything) so hey whatever, at least i got my baby back behind a gated fence with two big German shepherds guarding her.

See the problem is if you "Put a fist in the face" of the person/persons that you KNOW did whatever to your property, they will only cause YOU to become jail bound or worse [Sued]...

This is why most people have figured out that fu**in' with someone's personal property is the "Better" way (Is there such a thing??) to handle a dispute with someone. Sure, they will never truly know for sure who did it and the burden of proof lies with the accuser not the accused, and you can't get the satisfaction of knowing they know you did whatever, but this is the sad reallity we live in today...

The best way to deal? Well, first off, I wouldn't have parked it outside where admittedly, you claim was a mistake. I'd try and make sure someone was at said house at all times (usually an older person who just loves to be nosey for a legit reason), or simply get a set of cameras to watch your property cause people who are jealous, have nothing better to do, or are just angry young people out lookin' to "One up" each other and busting people's glass out, are the norm today...Back when i was younger, we wouldn't have even thought of doing this to even our enemy as we put ourselves in their shoes and wouldn't want it done to our stuff....This is not the way it is today with the youth...

AMEN. I would have loved to park it somewhere else but its kinda hard to move a car with no steering... Its sad I'm 19 I'm what most of the people call "the youth today" as you said back in the day people even enemies wouldn't do that, even if I was that person who was jealous I still wouldn't have done that but instead admire and wish that I could live when this car was the "norm" of the day. Ive had to grow up real fast as a child and matured much faster than the people in my age group. I ain't saying I'm a saint who lives the ritchious life, we all have flaws were human, looking back at what happened, at first I was enraged then sad but eventually I learned to live with it. Its sad that people are like that these days, I wish I could have grown up in the 60s or 70s like most of you guys here where if you said hello to some stranger walking by and was given a response back other than that guy was weird or hell acting like your some weirdo. I wish life was simple like these old cars are where people weren't out just to get your money. Where 5 bucks got you a movie ticket, a pop, and some popcorn. I know I'm young and I still have a lot to learn but dammit why do the people in this world have to make life so hard! Why cant life be as simple like the old days like when my father grew up. When you could gather up your friends in the pickup pile em up in the back with no seats and seatbelts and have a good time maybe grab the ol' .22 and go to the middle of no where and have fun. I wish I had the luxury to grow up in that timeline when most people treated people with respect. Isn't that all we really want in life to have respect, the persuit of happiness, and to live life without fear?? I just got the steering and suspension fixed on my car about 2 days ago. Im gladly to say that im driving her now. And plan on bringing her to the 4th of july firework show at the local mall out here. Only problem is my friend disconnected the switch to my headlights and there usually is alot of cops and the show is done... this is the 3rd event that ive been trying to get my car to.
