Saw Cars 2 today.

Great movie and worth going to the theater to see it.
I did not see the 3D version.

FYI pay attention to the boat (name and the voice) in the opening sceen.

Two thumbs up.

bull

I give it one thumb. It was good but not nearly as good as the first one IMO.

A383Wing

we are gonna go see it on the Fourth Of July while everyone else is blowing up their money & fingers. We have done this for about the last 5 years....I think the most people we have ever had in the theater was 12

Old Moparz

We may go see it at a drive in theater tonight. I liked the first one, a cartoon movie better than most cartoonish action flicks.

A drive in theater?  Cool, I didn't think there were too many left anymore.

Our original plans were to see Cars 2 at a drive in Friday night but they were sold out when we got there so we just stopped by a regular theater on the way back home.

Thanks for the listings   They would all be a good distance but if still open might be a good outing to see the movie.  All the local ones from right around the area within say 1hrs drive started selling off the land or converted to porn then eventually had to close as the area developed and the screens got in view of roads and development.  A drive-in would be a good show for Cars 2.

Old Moparz

Nothing any good ever seems close anymore.

We decided to go tonight & I think I can buy tickets on line since that theater has it's own website. It might be a good idea because of what bull said about his being sold out. The Hyde Park Drive In where it's playing is close to the Good Guys car show that I went to in Rhinebeck. School is out & a car movie near a huge car show might be a big attraction.

Just took the kids to see it. It was a good sequel. The kids loved it.

Did you say Porno drive inns?..??  are you serious?  What a great idea!!   :o

Same thing happened to most of the drive in near me. Too many kids were able to see the screen so they tore down the drive-ins. There is only one left by me and its supose to be tore down and made into a strip mall.

I guess now a days they could mount a 80 inch TV on a stand in front of your car and everyone could watch what they wanted.  10,000 porno movies to choose from.

How is it we turned a discussion about a G rated movie into a discussion about porn?

Took my kids to see it in 3D they liked it I thought it was ok liked the first one alot better.

Old Moparz

We did go see it last night & it was like a few others had said, it was good, but not as good as the first one.  :Twocents:

My daughter really liked it, she's 12, & loved the whole drive in experience. This was only the 2nd time she's been to a drive in, but it was the 1st time we made more of a picnic atmosphere for it. Brought chairs, small table, boom box to listen to it, & we had nice weather.

One thing though, & sort of a mistake, we decided to stay for the 2nd movie of the double feature, the latest Pirates of the Caribbean flick. It didn't end until around 1 AM & I was beat after a 45 minute ride home. That one was okay, but just like Cars 2, it was still not as good as the 1st one.

I'm still tired.  :rotz:

We took my 2 1/2 year old son on Saturday, his first movie theater experience.  He is a complete Cars fanatic and watches the first movie 4-5 times per week.  He didn't really get the sequel and kept walking between my wife and I asking "Where's McQueen" (and he can sit through the first movie without losing interest).  In my opinion (and I won't give out any spoilers), they made the plot a lot more complex than the first one, almost like they were targeting the kids that were old enough to enjoy when the first one came out and now they're all 5-6 years older.  The first one was simpler to grasp for young kids and taught core lessons and values like sharing/helping/friendship etc.  Having seen the first one a few hundred times thanks to my little guy, I didn't really care for the second one as much.  I give it a thumb sideways.  It's good, but not great and not movie theater prices worthy.

Tom Hanks Reveals Pixar Is "Working" On A Toy Story 4!

Say whaaaaat?
During an interview overseas to promote his new movie Larry Crowne, Tom Hanks was asked if he has been approached by the masterminds at Disney/Pixar to voice Woody for a fourth time in another Toy Story feature flick. We were prepared for him to say no, but in a shocking twist, Tom not only revealed that there will be a fourth Toy Story, but that the Pixar people are "working on it now."
Hooray!!! More play time!!!
Normally, we would be a bit skeptical. Once a trilogy is established, its very hard for a fourth film to find its footing. Still, if there is ANYONE who can pull it off, it's the people at Disney/Pixar. If they have every intention of releasing it in theaters, then they have every intention of making it the best damn movie it can be! So then, we're completely onboard for Toy Story 4! Bring it on!!!

We took our kids to see it in 3D on Sunday. Not bad...kids loved it.

Early on we are watching and I just blurted out...."a Gremlin X?....what's up with all the AMCs"....my wife shushed me!

Later the voice of the the blue Challenger got me...."hey..Sam Axe"....having Bruce Campbell on this was cool.

At first I thought it was a Challenger too but then I saw the front and thought it looked like a Mustang. :shruggy: Then I found this on caranddriver.com: "Billed as "a Detroit muscle car," Rod Redline actually looks like a combination of all three of Motown's famous pony cars: There's more than a little Mustang in his hood; the side profile and graphics say Challenger; and the rear resembles a Camaro."

By the way, did someone really make an aluminum engine with fasteners that were neither metric or sae (like the one they found under the hood of Miles Axlerod) or was that something they just made up?
