Which do you like better?

BANANA
NOTRED
PEELED
CHIQTA

BananaDan

I posted a poll above, vote for what you like best.  I really want to do BANANA, but I don't want to regret it or give a 'soft' demeanor to my car, but it fits so damn well.  Feel free to supply ideas as well.  They can only be a maximum of 6 characters.

Your car looks great, try for BANANA if it's what you want.

Does your state have a website where you can do a personal plate lookup to find out if the ones you want are available? It could save you the trouble of guessing.

I'd stay away from YLO SNO or PUS WGN as options.

They do, but it's only for regular plates, not the historical plates.  For historical plates you have to fill out a paper form, provide 3 choices in case some are already taken and mail it in to Trenton.  It's so last decade...    NJ DMV does suck though.

up here in Washington, you can go to DMV website and type in a personalized plate to see if it is either taken or available

I like BANANA....or "YELLER" if yer from the South

buckeyecharger

First off..Your Charger looks awesome!!! My first 69 charger was yellow (very similar to your color). But it wasn't even close to being as nice as yours. My wife would always call it the yellow banana. So she would say things like "get that yellow banana out of the driveway". So for me there was always a negative tone to it being called a banana. And of course a negative tone because the paint wasn't great. Now I have a F5 green 69 and the wife loves it! My plates are original 1969 Ohio plates....registered as a historical vehicle.  Have you ever thought of looking for some original 1970 plates for it? Especially since your car looks original. Shouldn't be to hard to find online. Just my 2 cents!

So hey...do what you want...it's your charger.

Ha, a friend mentioned YELLER to me recently.  But unfortunately, I'm not in the south, I'm in New Joisey.

Thanks for all of the ideas and nice comments, me and my car appreciate it.  :)  I am going to reset the poll, basically only two got significant votes, BANANA and PEELED and now PEELED is growing on me like a fungus.  So I trimmed the list (had to give the wife some executive cutting privilege as well) and added some other ideas I really like that people added today (I can't post to this site when at work, read only).

So thanks for all of the input, it is greatly appreciated and is helping me tons.  If you wouldn't mind, feel free to vote again on this new list (not in any particular order).

I'm not sure about antique 1970 era plates, but I'm pretty sure NJ doesn't allow it unless you've had those plates on your car originally?  I could be wrong, but they are pretty strict about returning plates no longer in use.  Also, I like the yellow/black colors of our plates these days, they match my car quite nicely.

On ocean boats, bananas are really bad luck.  Was going for a subtle reference. Enough fisherman in jersey to get it, maybe. At least it has 6 letters haha

Thanks Brian.  Well everyone, thank you so much for your input.  For some reason this was a tough decision and your input helped a lot.  I started thinking about this last summer!  :eek2:  Anyway, the application is on its way to Trenton, I'll post a pic once I receive the plates and they're mounted.  Thanks to Brian, I didn't have to fill out a 2nd choice or 3rd choice on the form.   :2thumbs:

I'm going to save the results of my decision until after the plates arrive...  Unfortunately, thanks to the efficiency of the DMV, I don't imagine I'll have them in time for Carlisle.
