Nice!  I will be watching this thread closely as my 68 Charger is in the same condition for what I can see.  Except I have no grille at all.  Found out that they are hard to come by in good condition.  I love this site and what people have been doing to their cars.  Gives me a lot of hope and motivation to get mine done.

Great project, love the white with black combo, (my favorite color combo on 69s :drool5:), Congrat's on your first find and nice optioned car.  ps- because your car is so original, I would keep taking photos for future reference, including the blacked out area on the radiator support for matching purposes later.

Hi guys! I haven't been on here in a long time but things look the same.  Anyway I been thinking about selling my 1969 Dodge Charger R/T due to life/health but I'm not sure how much to ask for it. It has been striped down and the body has been media blasted including the under carriage then sprayed with primer and a coat of black paint to seal it off. I haven't done any body work. The worst rot is around the front and back windows and the tail light panel needs to be replaced. I have $2,000 in new Year One parts including the tail light panel. I have a 440hp engine and transmission that came out of a 1969 Coronet r/t and has 60k original miles on it and runs great. The only parts missing are the headliner and carpet. Also comes with a extra driver side door, a pair of 906 heads and a rebuilt big block 727 transmission. Vin on the car is xs29l9b266489. I haven't done anything to it in years so I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. Let's see if I can get some pics on here...

I keep getting this when I try to upload a pic.  Sorry! There is already an attachment with the same filename as the one you tried to upload. Please rename the file and try again.  I'm on my iPhone, and I don't have a computer so this could take awhile.  :brickwall:

The pic issue is that you must rename it. Can't post from iphone.

I tried uploading pics using a friends computer and I'm still having trouble.  I don't remember having this problem before.

I'm in Smiths AL, I'll forward the thread to a couple of Mopar people I know in case they know someone looking for a project.

Sorry to see you give up on it but I understand.

Do you have the fender tag and/or build sheet? And have you talked with the lady that has the original motor? Does she have any interest in selling or trading for it?

Mike
It is inaccurate to say that I hate everything. I am strongly in favor of common sense, common honesty, and common decency. This makes me forever ineligible for public office. - H.L. Mencken

JR thanks

Tomonty, I have the fender tag, couldn't find the build sheet. Yes I talked to her, she said she wasn't interested in selling anything, but to give her my number and she would call when she was. Never got the call.

Ok guys, I know it's only worth what someone is willing to pay, but I need help pricing my Charger. What's it worth?

marshallfry01

6-8k?  :shruggy: I may be off a little bit. That's what I would pay for it. Good luck with the sale!  :2thumbs:

Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Thanks, but I hope it's worth more then 6-8k. Any more opinions? I would love to hear from some of the old timers on here.

If it was re-assembled then it would be easier to sell.   :yesnod:   I doubt you want to do that, and I don't blame you.   A basket case detours a lot of buyers.   :Twocents:

What kind of primer & black paint did you use on it & how many coats of each ? THANKS, LEON :scratchchin:

69 Bama R/T

Hi Leon, I used two coats of ppg epoxy primer and two coats of ppg paint. I can't remember the exact paint I used but it was what the paint guy recommended.

hemi-hampton

Was just wondering it it was some thick single stage enamel & if it would have to be restripped again? :scratchchin: LEON.

69 Bama R/T

He's been doing paint and body he's whole life so I'm sure it's the right paint. I'll see if I can find out what it is.
