More parts I'm looking for info on. Where do the nuts in upper left go. They have a rubber O ring? inside. Do they hold the dash pad on, or is it smething in the window area? Thanks

They look like dash pad nuts to me but it's a while since I had one off.  Is it actually an O ring in them or is it just sort of a sticky filler (as if to hold the nut in place)?

Well, their rubber, kind of flattened out. But there's things like the glove box and the other dash  parts that stick thru the dash, but I only have a few of the rubber type. Thanks.

I don't recall having seen those before but maybe a good place to check would be somewhere attached they seal out water from the firewall or an emblem thru the body panel  :shruggy:

:yesnod:

all the ones that attached name plates /  stainless  trim to the out side of the body from the inside  , had a butle filling or something like Ghoste says  , & or a larger flat rubber sealing washer thing , not one that is actually inside :scratchchin: ,  although these do look familiar :popcrn:

although picture is of a 69 ,  68 tail panel trim will attach different , just look at whats needed & try to match up the nuts & as a tempory mesure
to see whats what , have found that some suppliers of the repoped nuts are not quite the same as the OEM ! :Twocents: but do the job !
there are lots of them nuts used in the dash , for lower dash pads vents etc etc even glove box hinge from memory ,

Tan Top, thanks again for the pic of the 69. I looked in an old year one catalog for these parts and am finding a few. Thanks again. You must have taken your charger apart yourself from the good info I'm getting from you.

This butyl you're talking about, is that something you buy in a tube? Does it make it harder to take off down the road, without problems? Makes sense about the leaking water  part. Thanks.

You can buy an assortment of speed nut sizes at most auto part stores. Also pickup a package of dumdum at your local auto body/paint store. Its grey or cream color stuff that's like thick putty. Press a ball of it into the bottom of the speed nuts. When you snug them down the dumdum seals out water very well. good luck.  :Twocents:
